If what the republican liars, er, talking heads, are correct, i.e., government paying for healthcare would have old folks being "put out to pasture", then guess what old worried, oh so gullible folks. It would already be happenning to old folks because guess whose paying for your medicare?

But the young, and oh so gullible, folks should really be fighting the current system because we really are being put out to pasture. Try getting your insurance company to pay for stem-cell therapy for your Parkinson's Disease, or immunio-therapy for your cancer; nope, you're told go home and die.

Democrats/progressives really need to get more aggressive in our responses to this kind of crap ... and we do not have to lie to do it.

But then, what can we expect of a party that does not impeach its leader when they find out that the leader committed the country to a war based on what turned out to be lies?

Haven't the Republicans been warning for years that Social Security and Medicare are going to go bankrupt? Isn't that what will kill old people if allowed to happen? And isn't one of the purposes of health care reform to safeguard Medicare which is slated to have serious problems in the future?

What is the Republican alternative to resolving the health care crisis. People, including old people who fall into the donut hole on prescription drugs, are already dying.

13. Whenever I tell people this is going on in the US Congress, they won't believe me...

They think I'm joking. Heck, I have trouble believing it myself, even after having watched the footage from the House floor. And I kept thinking: "if representatives said this on the floor of the Dutch parliament, they would have gotten their mics cut off and driven to the mental asylum".

Seriously.

But then again, we don't have this 'talk radio' (= hate radio) that flourishes so much in the US. Those pathetic clowns would either be fired for what they said or arrested for their hate speech.
