He mentions that Rockefeller says that the Senate may have compromised SCHIP, the program of health care for children, away. Dean has been quite critical of the Senate these two days.

He covers Obama's words to the women in the grocery store today where he was speaking. She asks if older American citizens are being put to pasture. He reassures her they won't, and says the fear tactics worry him.

Brown tells Dean they won't accept a weakened public option. Won't fall for a phony co-op. Will put pressure on Reid for a better bill.

They discuss small business subsidies. Brown says good stuff for them in plan...don't know details.

Dean asks why his senate colleagues are willing to give away so much in compromise. Brown remembers when Democrats did not worry so much about Republicans.

Sherrod Brown reminds us how the drug and insurance companies wrote the Medicare D and Medicare Advantage plans. Only thing is that Brown just said Medicare and did not clarify.

Dean asks if the president needs to do more to intervene about the Senate and its bill. Brown agrees.

Both were impressive.

1. I thought Dean looked more at ease tonight on Countdown.
That has got to be a hard thing to do, to sub for a professional. He subbed for Tina Brown in 2004 on CNBC when he interviewed Bev Harris.

7. heh heh I assume you mean Bill Nelson.
He's is so concerned about offending Republicans that he lets his office staff offend his own party constituents.

15. I called him "Space Man" at a Kerry rally, he seemed taken aback but smiled...
I was like, "yeah, you gonna be a supporter of Democratic causes if Kerry gets in". He said of course...

BWAHAHA... yeah right. I am pretty let down of him, as I've told you in years past. He's not much better than Landrieu, for example.

20. One small problem....
....Dean doesn't have a "bill", he has a recommendation for a bill. Maybe he should run for Congress so he can have one of his very own??

23. The headline is "Dean interviews Sherrod Brown". The "HE" would obviously be DEAN, since...
Edited on Thu Jul-30-09 08:35 PM by George II
...he was the subject of the sentence.

Now, if the headline had been "Sherrod Brown interviewed by Dean", then one could assume the "HE" was Brown, being the subject.

9. I know Brown personally.
He was my local House Rep. in Ohio before he went to the Senate. He's an unpretentious, approachable, decent guy who has no tolerance for Congressional Republicans and their underhanded tactics.

11. Dean: "Why is it that your colleagues appear willing to give away so much..."
Dean: "Why is it that your colleagues appear willing to give away so much just to please a few Republicans that may not be willing to pass any health care reform of any kind?"

Real answer: The Obama administration (DLC) need a made-up excuse to disguise the fact that they are owned by corporate america that doesn't want health care reform or anything that will take away from their profits...uhm...Duh.

21. No, it was on last night.
I know you want to catch me making a mistake. Don't worry, you will. I make a lot of them. The last thread on which you hounded me got very ugly.

No, facts are not on your side. It was Tues and Wed. Dean hosted Countdown. This segment was July 29.

Bye now.

25. ugh... 1st that odd post about ' "he" refers to Dean, and Dean has no bill '
Then the post correcting your supposed error. I was like, "really? are you serious? Dude, step outta the house and get some fresh air."

I love you, MadF! Good and polite 'stick it to 'em' posts without being overboard! You certainly have dealt with plenty a poser in your life on DU, I'm sure.
