This is from Morning Joe today.

That angers her. She is so snide. Is she always like that? She sounds woefully uninformed..like on purpose. Pathetic.

Here is more from Think Progress.

Former Gov. Howard Dean will guest host MSNBC’s Countdown with Keith Olbermann this Tuesday and Wednesday nights. Dean is a CNBC contributor. He, along with ThinkProgress’ Igor Volsky and Faiz Shakir, is the co-author a new book entitled, “Howard Dean’s Prescription for Real Healthcare Reform.” This morning, Dean sparred with CNBC’s business anchor Maria Bartiromo, who tried to defend the job that private sector has done on health care. Dean stood his ground, arguing, “The insurance companies do a terrible job.” He added:

Quote from Dean: "If you do a survey of Medicare, most people are happy with Medicare. There are no bureaucrats interfering between doctors and patients in Medicare. But there are a lot of bureaucrats interfering between private health insurance companies and patients and doctors. … It’s time that the special interests in Congress stopped influencing folks to make their choices for them, and let the American people choose."

Here at DU he is treated as a sell-out. Kind of pathetic.

1. What do you mean he is treated as a sell out?
I rarely see anything other than the highest respect for Dr. Dean at DU.

And I am considered a corporate sell-out for defending him for defending the public option.

The comments are vicious, I'm afraid. Good thing I have a tough hide.

21. What you call Dean's "batshit crazy" comments generally make
more sense than not. The logic can be too avant-garde for some.
And the major thing that has always been used to demonstrate his "craziness," his rallying the volunteers speech after the Iowa primary, was totally taken out of context and overblown. It was used to destroy him politically in 2004. But that action backfired with some unintended consequences for Rethugs.
After all, he did take his campaign everywhere and recharged batteries for Dems all over the US so that they were able to retake the Presidency, the Senate and the House. But that didn't happen in 2004. It happened after he became DNC Chair. Even then he was strongly opposed by some who ended up being his greatest beneficiaries ... and who still don't appreciate what he did for them.

22. Both written by me.
With many links and facts.

He IS the target of single payer groups and a blog search will show it. He is a target here because he supports public option. These groups are calling congress saying not to vote for the public option, even though the final form is not known. They have called him a liar and a shill. Most anything I write about the fact it is hurting us all brings attacks on me for saying it.

But that's ok.

I hope he is the future of the DEM party.

Oh and Maria, she all but needs knee pads when she interviews some of these sorry CEO, esp Jack Welch. I don't think much of her journalism.

6. I just don't see what is so f*cking hard about all this.....
...except the smoke and mirror and bat shit misinformation by the insurance industry and their goons in Congress and elsewhere.

GIVE US THE OPTION!! If we are going to lose control of choices, as you so frightfully propose, then we'll not be happy with it and go for private insurance. If the lines will take forever and we'll die on the streets with public insurance care, then we'll go for the private insurance option. Hell....50 million with nada? Who controls that?

Jesus, the argument is so f*cking weak, yet the scare tactics make it sound like we are all going to die waiting for aspirin.

I just can't believe we are this f*cking stupid in this country. I'm tempted to go to France, or England or Canada...or some other far away place to get my health care. Have you checked prices for carrying DECENT health care with DECENT deductibles now? OUTRAGEOUS!! I simply can't afford it, and have anything left over to lead a normal life with.

This is absurd!! This dumb bitch drives me batty. Open you ears and LISTEN. They are so damned interested in yakking, they don't hear a word that is being said.

co. do a terrible job in delivery health care, and it's clear why, they have no competition.

8. Video from tonight with Rachel and Dean. I transcribed a little.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VriojzKGqhU

A few comments..

"This is about the insurance industry vs the American people"

"A vote against the public option is a vote for the insurance industry and a vote against the American public"

"The cry in 2010 will be who are you gonna vote for...the people who sent you there and pay your salary or the health insurance industry...that's your choice."

Rachel tells him about the latest development...

"that's all very nice...glad they are bipartisan but that is not reform.."

"that's what I call the fake public option"

"and it's a shame really because the Democrats are going to end up being responsible for killing this bill"

"this is gonna be a hell of an issue in 2010...what's the point of having a 60 vote majority in the Senate if you can't produce health care reform."

18. Yeah, he totally nailed it. Where are the "A vote against the public option is a vote for the
insurance industry and a vote against the American public" commercials. Oh, right, the insurance companies have all our money and are using it to convince the Moran Majority that health-care reform is Satan's spawn.

I'm not supposed to have to be rich to get representations that's on my side! Thanks George Bush for concentrating the wealth and therefore power into a tiny group of soulless bastards. Muggers.

And he did a really good job in that final 30 seconds being clear public option isn't mandatory!

19. Never been impressed with Bartiromo
I've seen her interviewed a few times and I've watched her shows on occasion. She's never come across as that intelligent or well-informed, and this is yet another example. She's gotten to where she is based more on physical apperance than anything. Don't know what Joey Ramone saw in her.

Could anyone else make out Pat Buchanan's face toward the end of that clip? He was making infant-like facial contortions. What a sod.

Dean was in good form as usual. His arguments are solid and no right-winger or ignorant TV talking head can chip away at that.

20. Bartiromo is totally pathetic.
She is not only snide, but downright rude to Dean ... but oh, how she does worship her corporate masters. As someone noted above, those kneepads are pretty worn.
She chooses deliberately to misunderstand Dean so that she can get her private sector huzzahs in and then won't even let him speak. If that's the point, why even ask him on? She is a disgrace, and an uninformed Rethug mouthpiece at that.
Good for Howard for managing to make his points in spite of her!
