Fox commentator encourages Taliban to kill captive U.S. soldier.

On "America's News HQ," guest pundit Ralph Peters suggested something to the effect that the Taliban should "save us the headache" and execute captured 23 year-old American soldier Bowe Bergdahl, because "it looks like" Bergdahl deserted his unit. While prefacing his comments by stressing that a military decision should not be made until all of the facts surrounding Bergdahl's capture are determined, Peters then ignored his own advice and encouraged the Taliban to kill this young man. Fox News' Julie Banderas was visibly shocked at the words coming out of Peters' mouth, but did not challenge any of his statements before awkwardly ending the segment.

I was an 11b in Vietnam...and there were MANY times we didn't know where "our buddies" were. In fact, the first fire fight I was in, we were being shot by OUR OWN "buddies", and we lost our Lt, our medic, and four other llb's. This guy is full of shit!

Whether he is or isn't, I don't know and neither does Peters, but Peters clearly assumes that that's the case and runs with it.

But Peters was doing his job here, as his ilk (like Ann Coulter) always do, and that's to redefine the extreme of allowable discourse. Now, "extreme" means "assuming that a captured soldier is an AWOL Blue Falcon and telling his kidnappers they'll be doing us a favor by killing him."
