Warning: Do not watch this if you have any illusions left about the professionalism of our Village Media. It combines the importance of a Kate & Jon vid with the professionalism of a real-life Wayne's World skit. And it's not a spoof of the Post; it's from their offical website.

Fake urinalists and genuine fuckheads Dana Milbank and Chris Cillizza mock a Democratic President and tongue-bathe an adulterous Republican Senator. Hilarity ensues. Or not. Especially considering that they fired real journalist Dan Froomkin and left these toads in place.

I know Bob Somerby would give a more analytical critique, but that would be like an opera critic dissecting a World Wide Wrestling event. Suffice it to say to the Post, its management, and its remeaning RNC media hacks: Fuck off ya fuckin' clowns.

2. This proves that true comedy is hard
...and trying too hard to be funny is...embarrasing.

4. I think this WAS true comedy.

I would amend what you wrote to read that intentional comedy is hard. Unintentional comedy is easy.

3. I actually watched part of this. What is their point? They are both dry,
uninspiring, not funny, and generally not entertaining, at all. I do like your description!

7. I wonder whether Ben Bradlee ever imagined the WaPo would stoop so low ...
... when he and "Woodstein" were crusading on behalf of the public's right to know. These dudes are ridiculous! Milbank was always goofy on KO, but Cillizza does some good analysis most of the time. Can't believe they're allowing this silliness on the Washington Post site. You can't convince me this crap is what the public wants from a major American newspaper!

Hey newspapers: I don't mind you complementing your reportage with audio and video. But for GOD'S SAKE ... stick to what you do well! You can give us the in-depth stories and analyses TeeVee doesn't have time for.

I am so sad.

8. 99% of Americans do not give a flying fuck what the Washington Post
or anybody connected with it has to say. And I don't think that is in any way an exaggeration. And shallow, superficial snobs like these two punks are a big part of why. Believe me, whether or not somebody buys into the republican bullshit they would have no empathy with twits like these two.

Don't be sad, the Post has indeed turned into a piece of crap but you have so much more of a variety of sources available now.

9. I'm madly in love with newspapers, and I don't want to break up!
The sillier newspapers become (and the more beholden to corporate interests), the sadder I become. There is no news source like a newspaper, especially for local reporting. Bloggers, television and radio can complement newspapers, but they'll never replace them -- for me -- as a news source.

That's why I'm so sad.

10. And that is in such sharp contrast to how things USED to be.

The Post helped break Watergate and bring down a lawless President. That was a different time, a different Post, and a different world. ;(
