"It promotes civil society but what we really see in the streets of Tehran is it promotes civil strife."
Now I am 1000s of miles from Iran and they have to figure out their own system, and I know very little about their religious or cultural traditions. Nor do I claim to know whats best for them or other people.
But I know the quote above the guy said. It is 'Order' above all things.
If you are enslaved, or oppressed, (not saying Iran is) then you should just accept it because Order is more important. This leads to 'support the status quo' and nothing else. Because any status quo that is not willing to just give up power will never be challenged.
In this situation only civil governments relinquish power, and ruthless ones continue. Think about it, if only civil systems within the government can be used, then they are taking away right to revolution doctrine. By doing that they establish power and control first.
Now I believe in Gandhi method, doesn't matter if it takes a day or 100 years, you take the rifle butt and get back up, and you do it peaceably without violence or hate. Now I don't say anyone else should do that, but personally I do not believe in giving in to wrong for the sake of 'Order' that is not just.
Because 'Order' is actually 'Chaos' if not just, because eventually it will melt down and be replaced, and the sooner it happens the better. Because if people refuse and stand up when they got a mildly unjust or brutal regime, they will stop things before that regime becomes completely unjust and brutal, which would be the worst situation.
Again, I have no ability to comment on Iran or what Iran should be like or do. They get to pick for themselves.
But I can call that guy in the video a stooge for status quo power everywhere.
If a government is corrupt, and a group or person shares ideas of freedom, then is that person advocating civil strife, or is the oppression of their own government advocating civil strife by their own actions.
To the poster that said "be careful what you wish for" Hey that was real close to the first line of the last song I posted about what I think about health care dispute. Another coincidence.
