3. The censorship loses much of the power
Much of what made the video so hard to watch, and yet so powerful, is in Neda's eyes, as we see her fear and then her life drain away in a matter of seconds. It is striking that she has barely had time to comprehend what has happened to her when her life comes to an end. With her face blurred out of "respect" you don't see that, and it's just a random tragic scene.

7. CNN is also putting up a big warning card now.
Bold white type on a black screen. Gives you time to get the kids away or change the channel. I just saw this for the first time and it is devastating, but yes, if Neda's face is pixilated her story loses much of its power.

8. I don't think so.
You still know she is a human being. You still see a young woman lying in the street, and you know she is dead. The pixilation doesn't matter.

We didn't need to see the face of the Chinese man standing in front of the Tiananmen tank. We didn't need to see the face of Jeffrey Miller as he was dying from a National Guard bullet at Kent State. We got the message.

That's what Neda is to us now.

14. one thing that really stands out is the screaming of the people around her
there were reports that it was either her father or a teacher. but whoever it is, it was someone who knew her and they are begging her to stay alive and not be scared or anything else.

11. Will this be the Tank-Man moment in Iran?
My heart goes out to her family. And to all the families suffering the loss of a loved one during this time in Iran.

13. I have been haunted by the footage ever since I saw it.
I don't think I will ever forget it. With such sympathy evoked by this and other events I hope it will now be impossible for the neocons to ever con us into a war with these people.
