While thousands of foreign troops are based in Afghanistan to fight the Taliban, soldiers are being trained to gain the hearts and minds of ordinary people.

In a fake Afghan village in the UK countryside, they learn about the importance of diplomacy and how to avoid potentially dangerous mistakes.

Al Jazeera's Nadim Baba has more from southeast England.

3. Erm, no
That's the point of the training. How many times have you heard of British troops "shooting" or bombing Afghan civilians?

5. My question was, "how many times?"
You are being totally disingenuous in your first response to the video when you imply that British soldiers deliberately go around killing Afghan civilians.

First sentence from your link:

"British troops accidentally killed four civilians and wounded three others with rockets during an operation against Taliban insurgents in southern Afghanistan, Nato and British officials said last night."

I think there must be some cognitive dissonance going on here. Do you know what the British troops have actually been doing in Afghanistan? Did you even watch the video? They are deliberately going out of their way to A V O I D civilian deaths and the American military could learn from this. This training should be compulsory for ALL soldiers going to Afghanistan, whatever country they come from.

2. I wonder - for proper verisimilitude do they have
American jets or drones bombing the place every three weeks?
