1. And the sheople said Baaaaaaaa.....
Face it, most Americans and blind and purposely ignorant about the treasonous actions of this pResident. They stood silent as the Supreme Court hijacked the vote. They stood silent when republican controlled electronic voting machines were manipulated. They stood silent when an illegal war was started. They stood silent when the constitution was shredded. They stood silent while the Geneva Convention was tossed in the gutter. It seems no amount of corruption is enough for much of the population. No amount of worldwide disdain is enough. No amount of evidence showing terrorism is rising due to the policies of bush. Nothing what-so-ever will change the mind of the cool-aid drinking religious zealots that currently make up the republican faithful. It's a sad state of affairs. Oh God, if only we had to concern ourselves with consensual sex again.

2. imo the greatest comeuppance of them all is watching america learn...
that not only is the world far less civil, but our contributions to it are less civil than we pretend; and that there is no longer any such fairy tale that the game is played by some variant of Marquis de Queensberry rules...

The Queensbury Rules

1. To be a fair stand-up boxing match in a twenty-four foot ring or as near that size as practicable.

2. No wrestling or hugging allowed.

3. The rounds to be of three minutes duration and one minute time between rounds.

4. If either man fall through weakness or otherwise, he must get up unassisted, ten seconds be allowed to do so, the other man meanwhile to return to his corner; and when the fallen man is on his legs the round is to be resumed and continued until the three minutes have expired. If one man fails to come to the scratch in the ten seconds allowed, it shall be in the power of the referee to give his awart in favour of the other man.

5. A man hanging on the ropes in a helpless state, with his toes off the ground, shall be considered down.

6. No seconds or any other person to be allowed in the ring during the rounds.

7. Should the contest be stopped by any unavoidable interference, the referee (is) to name the time and place as soon as possible for finishing the contest, to that the match can be won and lost, unless the backers of the men agree to draw the stakes.

8. The gloves to be fair-sized boxing gloves of the best quality and new.

9. Should a glove burst, or come off, it must be replaced to the referee's satisfaction.

10. A man on one knee is considered down, and if struck is entitled to the stakes.

11. No shoes or boots with springs allowed.

12. The contest in all other respects to be governed by the revised rules of the London Prize Ring.

any pretense to that illusion went out the window when bush tossed no-less than the Geneva Conventions on top the burning heap

3. They stood and remain silent about buildings "falling" at 10 floors per sec.
Edited on Fri Jun-01-07 12:53 PM by Beam Me Up
. . . As if the mere weight of less than a quarter of a structure is sufficient to crush the remaining structure as if it were made of nothing but puff pastry. Oh, it is much worse than that, too, because the rate of "collapse" was almost equal to the upper floors falling through nothing but air. Free fall is the rate in a vacuum and it nearly rivaled that. That is a physical impossibility.

And yet the government remains silent and, worse, creates disinformation and obfuscation to cover up these facts. The media remains silent and, worse, broadcasts the government's nonsense. Manyh individuals in the Democratic party, the left, even the "radical left" pooh-pooh the idea and dissuade themselves and others from even looking at the evidence. Except for http://www.patriotsquestion911.com/">a few, brave, http://stj911.org/|thinking individuals>, politicians, government agencies, academics, scientists, engineers, architects, religious leaders and so forth REMAIN SILENT about the awful, horrific, unthinkable truth.

Whatever happened it isn't what we not only WERE told but are STILL BEING told.

It is a failure of conscience of our entire society.
