2. Litigation equals less than 1 percent of cost.

What does "wellness" have to do with those going bankrupt and dying right now due to cost and no access?

And we do not have the "best health care in the world".

McConnel is a f'ing corporate whore...and a liar.

4. He's a lying, soulless putrefication! (not a real word)
It's rich that he talks about "programs to eliminate the use of tobacco products". He was placed in office by anti-science/pro-tobacco (yes, there is a connection) industry money to cover their asses in congress. What a hypocrite!

5. We need to fire back with "Do you want a for profit insurance company
making decisions on your healthcare, or your doctor? If it comes down to an insurance company - which is in the business of making profits - approving an expensive life-saving procedure, or saving your life, which do you think they'll take?"

8. McConnell has "GOVERNMENT" run health care
Paid for and by his employer, "We the People."

I am waiting for someone, anyone, to ask our employees, who pays for their health insurance and who decides which insurance company ?

15. He CAN'T tell the truth.
We can and should state the facts correctly. He/Sens and Members do NOT have 'government run' health care, and same as govt employees he pays part and govt pays part and he and Govt 'ees' decide which insurance company.

Only thing the govt runs is the program: http://www.opm.gov/INSURE/HEALTH/

10. Best healthcare in the world? What are his criteria for that statement?
It is well known that we spend in multiples more than the next closest country on healthcare and our results are NOT better. In fact our overall results are worse. Why is that? Well for one thing the uninsured only seek medical attention when they are already sick - no screenings for cancer, blood pressure, cholesterol, etc. So for him to say its the best in the world he needs to lay out his criteria. We will soon see that he speaks with forked tongue because it isn't true.

13. Does this f*cktard live in another world???
What does he think we have now??? Only difference is, 50 million of us have NADA!! What an ass wipe.

We maybe need to get every Democrat...REAL Democrats....out there spreading the word. IF NECESSARY, spread a few lies like these sons-of-bitches do. NO LINES!! QUICK ACCESS FOR ALL!! I'm tired of playing defense with these lying sacks of shit. They can toss all the shit against the wall they want...true or not...and they will have this ignorant mass of morons in our nation so confused, they'll be fighting against their own best interests.

ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!! GET THE WORD OUT!! LOUD and OFTEN!! We have to counter the propaganda they toss out there with truth...and if necessary, some bull shit of our own. What do these ignorant morons care. They are so used to eating lies and propaganda, they wouldn't know the difference.

Being facetious there in part...but am also so frustrated with the out and out lies these pukes are pushing out there DAILY, HOURLY!! We need to fight back!

14. This interview needs opposition and exposure for all of the lies
One minute 20 seconds into this video, McConnell had lied about 5 times. At the end, he obfuscates, attempting to scare Americans into thinking a change in healthcare delivery will result in rationing and long lines. Do Americans really believe this stuff?? I've posted this interview on a board dedicated to nothing political, but with a small debate board. I think a full analysis on each of McConnell's statements will quickly dipatch McConnell, from now and forever, into the liar category and we can get on with meaningful healthcare reform.

16. Does McConnell seriously think that Americans prefer having an insurance company
standing between them and their doctor, them and their medical decisions, them and medical care. I don't really think Americans like that.

Single payer is the best tort reform. That's because, at least in California, people sue for medical malpractice (negligence) in order to get three kinds of damages: 1) past, present and future medical coasts, 2) lost wages and 3) emotional distress. Single payer eliminates past, present and future medical costs. That leaves lost wages and emotional distress. Emotional distress is already fixed with a pretty low cap in California, low enough that lawyers don't have a lot of incentive to sue. Even with single payer, lost wages damages would still be an incentive to sue, but the injury has to be pretty severe to result in lost wages.

Of course, medical malpractice lawsuits for intentional malpractice is a different matter. I don't think that anyone would want to put a halt to those cases. They are pretty rare, I suspect.

17. See what McConnell thinks is the best health care in the world.
http://www.wisecountyissues.com/?p=62 How many more people will die while the health care system in America and the politicians rake it in ? The status quo in East Tennessee and southwest Virginia is nothing at all like the health care industry is advertising. As a former health care giver, I am sick and sad to see what has become of medicine.

18. Where does McConnell get his arguing points on the GM and Chrysler bailout?
Edited on Sun Jun-14-09 05:23 PM by bulloney
He says Ford is having a hard time competing with the other two companies because they're competing against the government. Chrysler has just come out of bankruptcy and GM is undergoing the procedure. He doesn't know what the situation is because that situation doesn't exist.

And what does McConnell suggest should have been done with GM and Chrysler? Let the hallowed "free market" take its course, resulting in millions of lost jobs directly associated with GM and Chrysler and its allied industries?

I get tired of the RW media gerbils giving these guys unchallenged forums to spout their empty rhetoric.
