1. Apologize, Dave ......................
Apologize for the last 30+ years. You are pathetic and despicable. Your audience is the left-wing equivalent of Limbaugh's audience.

Cheap laughs. What a legacy. Pitiful.

4. No comparison between Letterman and Limbaugh
And the fact that you think there is only shows how poor your perception of the world is. Limbaugh is an unabashed political commentator and "important voice in the Republican party," (According to the leaders of the party). Letterman is a late night talk show host/comedian. Letterman is funny, most of the time. Limbaugh? Not so much. Not even close.

Oh wait there IS one thing they have in common: both their names begin with an "L."

7. Sarah Palin is the despicable one!
Letterman made jokes about 18-year old Bristol that were tactless.

However, it is clear to everyone--including the Palins--that Letterman was not making the jokes
about their 14-year old daughter. Knowing that Letterman was not talking about their 14-year old,
the Palins accused Letterman of doing so--thereby inappropriately using their daughter as a weapon
in a public fight.

Who is sick here? The guy making some crass jokes, or the parents who are willing to victimize
their younger daughter?

Sarah and Todd Palin also know that Letterman wasn't advocating child rape or childhood sexual abuse. It
is obvious to everyone that this is not Letterman. However, in order to get their vengeance, the Palins
insisted that Letterman was advocating these things.

The Palins are trivializing childhood sexual abuse---when they use these crimes as payback.

I find the Palin's despicable, underhanded and totally immoral.

The jokes were questionable, but the Palin's behavior is even more perverse and disgusting!

12. I completely agree. IMO, the Palins are twisting these jokes for publicity.
And very unfavorable publicity, at that. I feel sorry for their children. x(

I've been in the Letterman studio audience and he comes off as cordial and a really nice guy, including when the cameras aren't rolling. He even came out after the show and thanked everyone for coming, unnecessary, but a thoughtful gesture. :-)

As for Limbaugh, he's a big fat idiot, and becoming increasingly dangerous with his irresponsible hate speech... :scared:

9. When Palin
used the word Hollywood/New York liberal I assumed she meant to say Jew.Could be wrong, maybe I am reading too much into it. That;s how I took it.

10. slutty flight attendant look
Have the slutty flight attendants sent any letters to Dave yet?

Personally, I'm in favor of slutty flight attendants and I hope their numbers grow.

Or not. not doing any flying for some time to come.

Good points in the previous posts. Esp the Palin's unnecessarily dragging their 14 year old into something that would be unpleasant for any 14 year old girl.

I really like Dave's response. Cogent and concise and especially NOT BACKING DOWN! There's nothing here for a comedian to back down over.

For the record, I don't watch much Dave, but I've always been a big fan of his shows!

11. Always a class act.
I love Letterman, low brow humor or not, it's delivered with class.

And Bristol makes herself a target for these jokes, by blathering to various media outlets with 'advice' for other girls. Allow me to quote the cover of the last People magazine:

"If girls realized the consequences of sex, nobody would be having sex. Trust me. Nobody."

As usual, it's full of non-information, completely unhelpful for teenagers that need real information for their health.
