and to Ms. Maddow for continuing to invite him as a guest on her show. She's right - his informal "testimony" is invaluable because he knows the rightwing mentality from the inside out. Thank God (and I mean that part) he had a change of heart and came to his senses.

is a truly fantastic book that takes a serious and sincere look at Evangelical-Fundamentalism and the political history and the psychology behind this phenomena as a political force.

He also wrote three fantastic semi-autobiographical novels loosely based on his years as a young boy growing up in Europe with his famous fundamentalist scholar father, Dr. Francis Schaeffer.

The three books comprise what he has named, the Calvin Becker trilogy. Calvin Becker was the alter-ego, semi-biographical character based on his years of growing up between ages eleven and fifteen in a prominent and famous fundamentalist scholarly family.
