Erich 'Mancow' Muller appeared on "Countdown with Keith Olbermann" Friday to address rumors that the waterboarding he underwent a few weeks ago to see whether the technique was constituted torture was in fact a hoax. Olbermann mentioned a report on Gawker which reported that Mancow's waterboarding was 'completely fake' and simply a publicity stunt. As evidence they mentioned an email from Mancow's publicist that said "It will be a hoax but have to look real."

While Mancow admitted to Olbermann that it was fair to call the incident a "stupid radio stunt," he noted that "waterboarding, all it is is water in your nose and mouth with your head back. I'm not David Copperfield. We had 50 news cameras there." He suggested that while the event was meant as a stunt, as his publicist suggested, the events that took place were completely real.

1. And the wingers keep eating their own.
Eventually the only one left will be Rush, and he'll be as big as a house. They'll have to cart him away on a flatbed semi-trailer.

"Get in me belly!"

5. Oompa Loompa's would be cheaper than a flat-bed.

And we get a song!

The only downside is when the 'darkside' of Limpaugh comes around as he's rolling. We may lose a few there.

We'll have the taffy-puller get them out. There may be some children left over in there they could save, though they would be older, and traumatized.

2. Personally, I blame the unreliable British press for this.

I bet they're the same folks who faked so-called "global warming" too!

:sarcasm:

I wonder whether "Mancow" will have a David Brock-style epiphany and realize that the only way the Right can argue its point is by making shit up.

3. Welcome to the real world, Mancow.

Rethugs eat their own, and you've rendered yourself good eatin'.

This could be enough to radicalize him, turn him into the next Arianna Huffington. When I read her first liberal columns, I thought SHE was the one pulling a "stunt!"

6. Mancow is an idiot
I mean, who the fuck has to undergo waterboarding to be convinced it's torture in the 1st place? Stupid. And then to have his kids paraded behind him...Look! We're on TV! Wave to grandma...while they talk about torture!
And his delivery! Does he talk like that all the time? Can't you hear him at the breakfast table asking for the jam in that tone and voice?
True...what Mancow is saying is good for nut jobs to hear, but do sane people need this? I love how he's all chummy chummy with KO, and it's obvious Keith thinks he's a fool.

I've seen him enough, thank you.

8. I'm no fan of Mancow
but on torture, at least, his opinion injects a long-overdue dose of reality to his audience, which — as you said — overlaps Hannity's and Limbaugh's.

I still can't quite believe that we, as a country, are debating the use of torture, period. Sickening. How far down the rabbit hole do you have to be?

7. How many of us outside of Chicago heard of Mancow before his waterboarding?
Now, he's a national celebrity. He accomplished what he wanted.

9. And he accomplished something else: SPOTTING THE LIE
His interviews with Keith are high political theater. In the words of Q's The Dude, "Don't let your mouth write a check that your body can't cash." Mancow attempted at least to PAY UP. He has my respect for that.

10. This interview, like the other was fair, respectful and truthful. One can
see that Mancow is more relaxed and open than the first one, and the interview does present exactly what it is meant to present. The truth. Mancow wins, Olberman wins, and we win.
