5. Pot meet kettle
Under Article 6, the United States is probably a prime candidate for expulsion. If the Constitution is "just a goddamned piece of paper," I daresay Bolton and his ilk consider the UN Charter to be a piece of toilet paper.

Of course, if Bolton had his way, every country would be kicked out of the UN.

6. Expel Bolton from planet Earth.
I say send him to Pluto -- that'll cool his hot head down. I bet he'd also find a fulfilling relationship there with a frigid rock or two.

7. There's no such thing as the United Nations

"There's no such thing as the United Nations. If the U.N. secretary building in New York lost 10 stories, it wouldn't make a bit of difference." -- John Bolton

11. Is this the new moderate Bolton?
He used to want to throw the UN out. It would have been OK with him for NK to have nukes, as long as it used them on the UN.

14. If it were just the headline in question....
I would have no problem with this. Sorry, I'm no fan of NK, nor of feeding people sawdust and telling them it's 'food.' Flame away, but at this point, I have no need for NK.

As re: Bolton, he's a dick.

16. Sad.
There's nothing NK is doing that isn't being done by some developed country this very day. Sure, they're fucked on many levels, but it's hardly something unheard of.

17. This is the same John Bolton who immediately stopped
all pending US negotiations with NK when he was appointed to power in the Department of State (as per Cheney and not Powell, as is usually the case with those appointed to the position he held there). That was long before his stealth appointment to the same UN he dislikes so much.

Had he not stopped those negotiations, NK might actually be in the so-called "fold" right now ... well, only perhaps because the NK leader is indeed a madman, but NK certainly wouldn't be the threat that it has become since.

Bolton has NO credibility with anyone who actually knows anything about international relations, either in the US or abroad. And yes, he should be indicted along with the rest of the war criminals, prosecuted and punished to the full extent of the law.

:puke:

18. Gee What possible reason could anyone have for wanting to develop
nuclear weapons after the last 8 years? I hate to be a blame America firster but when you go around using the American military like a mongol horde you can't blame the countries you threaten for taking steps to defend themselves.

19. Bolton is one of the master-minds that got us into this mess.
The PNAC neo-cons still cling to their deception of world dominance and would led us into the same abyss that destroyed the Roman Empire. Negotiation and compromise are beyond their mental capacity. Their policies only led to alienation of every one of you allies and military response to any opposition to your insane plans to dominate. The resulting chaos is assured.
