1. He should have said, 'Marriage hurts small business" because paying benefits for a spouse costs
just as much for a heterosexual one as a homosexual one.

3. Ah yes.... $$$ over basic rights and equality
I love how the GOP places money and profits above the basic rights and equality of all citizens. I wouldn't be as upset it Steele said that marriage in general harms small businesses. But to say that things should stay status quo in order for businesses to not treat gay and lesbian employees the same as heterosexual families because it may cost some money is the height of hypocrisy. But the issue does reveal the need to address health care. We must find a public solution to health care so that American businesses, large and small, can remain competitive to provide jobs to American workers.

5. I'm confused
marriage hurts small business? If not then why does it make a difference if the partners are heterosexual or homosexual. When does the insanity stop?

14. Then, the answer is quite simple
Single-payer universal government-run health insurance -- then there will be no effect on businesses.

This is just one more effect of the insanity of connecting health insurance to your job (or lack of one).

15. I dont understand
If two people are together and both working and have Ins. If they get married one business would pick up the new spouse but the other business would save money by losing the spouse.
