1. he said a lot to get nominated over HRC, and he is saying things still, now that he's in office
so, for the time being (2009), after reading his letter to the military (Lesbian) lady about DADT, I'm hoping that we're going to be seeing changes on these issues by the beginning of the next session of Congress. If there are no changes on the myriad of anti-GLBT provisions, I will not back him for re-election, it's as simple as that. There's no mixing messages with me, and I am remaining confident that I won't have to look elsewhere for a candidate and he will be a man of his word. I realize this year is a mess thanks to B*sh's raping of the govt for 8 years. So much to work through.

Best to you cCharles000!

2. they probably want to get 26 states so they can shout 'majority wins'

but my guess is they basically don't see it as a timing priority - perhaps waiting until after a new Supreme Court justice is in place - or perhaps 2. Thus far, on most levels Obama has been following through with things he said during the campaign (although the transparency issue has been a little foggy, but still clearer by far than before) so I hope they are simply lining up their ducks and knocking them off one by one.

Soon however, it'll be time to hand him a bigger slingshot and a map to this important duck.

Thanks for posting

3. I do not understand this whole fight
Marriage is just a contrast between two people and the state and if you want you can put it under a church(the states lets them finalize the contract if the two people/church wish it) but the church has no power in the say on the marriage only with in its own field. They do not under law have a thing to do with the contract between the two people and state. I see no reason why any one can not make a contract with the state even if they are the same sex. I have just lost this whole understanding of what people are fighting about. I wish some one would tell me what the fight is about.
