31. Thanks. I posted a thread about offering a brief summary along with videos
so we deafies wouldn't be left out all the time, and it got 173 recommendations, because so many people agreed with me. Nevertheless, I still find that most people simply refuse to offer a brief summary for those of us who cannot hear--or those who cannot watch videosbecause of slow dial up conenctions, etc.

34. It should be made a requirement! I'm trying to remember. The other Ventura
video (well, audio-only actually, with Hannity earlier) focuses mainly on the drug war (Ventura says they should all be legal, alcohol as dangerous as many other drugs; Hannity has no coherent argument)

the deficit that Obama has is not comparable to bush's deficit - totally different accounting standards that are far more honest! bush did not even include Iraq in his "budget deficit!" :wtf:

Anyone know what bush's deficit would be when made comparable to Obama's byh using the same accounting methods? I bet that once you take out the stimulus which was absolutely required, the deficits are pretty close - I bet Obama's is even better managed!

I for one am shocked.

http://www.factcheck.org/askfactcheck/did_bill_clinton_pass_up_a_chance_1.html

Q: Did Bill Clinton pass up a chance to kill Osama bin Laden?
Was Bill Clinton offered bin Laden on "a silver platter"? Did he refuse? Was there cause at the time?

A: Probably not, and it would not have mattered anyway as there was no evidence at the time that bin Laden had committed any crimes against American citizens.

45. OBL had been identified an enemy
well before 9-11, but if you weren't a news junkie you wouldn't have heard of him. I remember seeing a 20/20-type investigative report about him in the late 90's (the first I had heard of him), more or less introducing us to him and the fact that he had a three BILLION dollar bank roll. And wasn't he identified as being behind the Cole bombing? And the US embassy bombings in Africa? Plenty of us knew who he was.

46. OBL was in Clinton's sights on at least 2 occasions...
R's in Congress demanded nothing be done at the time. The situation was that OBL be targeted by cruise missiles, and the idea was to take him out. The argument against this was that he is a Saudi from a very powerful Saudi family, the repercussions from an attack would have been increased crude prices and diplomatic problems w/the Saudis.

OBL's main "problem" w/the US is that we have a military presence there going back to WWII, to protect he oil "lifeline". We pay to protect the Saudis from incursions. OBL believes that the US "infidels" are on holy ground, and should be removed by whatever means available. W/O access to phenomenal amounts of money to finance his "jihad", he would be little more than a very tall Saudi we/a limited following.

Anyway, Clinton pondered the moral/legal aspect of taking out OBL, figured he didn't have the legal/moral rationale for committing assassination, as well as pressure from R's to hold back from an attack...so we wound up w/9-11 after the bush administration decided to overlook the problem that was evolving. Once the bush failure was seen for what it was, it became a situation of cover-up and opportunity. One other thing, the only civilian flight over and out of US airspace that day was the plane that took several members of the Saudi family out of the country...authorized by the bush administration.

52. Not to mention Clinton was getting heat for any military action he took
Because they were accusing him of using the military to distract from the Monica Lewinsky/Impeachment thing. Republicans always have fucked up priorities that have nothing to do with country and everything to do with political power. Another good example of this was when Clinton tried to take more anti-terrorism steps after the OK City Bombing and Orrin Hatch and the Republicans whined that we didn't need counter-terrorism measures. That entire party is always wrong on everything.

That Hannity's a slick mofo. He knew Ventura could destroy him if they got into the torture issue, so he steered the conversation into a pointless pissing match, and made it look like Jesse's idea. I will admit Ventura did better than most Democrats Hannity has on though. I'd love to see him take on Russ Finegold someday. A guy can dream.

who said the US was better off after George Bush left office than before - and Gov. Ventura said -

"my GOD, then I don't need to talk about it to you then"

MY SENTIMENTS EXACTLY - HANNITY IS INSANITY! So damn laughable, he'll lie on his own mother's life to save face for the Resmuglicans!

72. That was a total mismatch!
Someone at Fox must not like Hannity too much. There is no way Hannity would have scheduled Jesse Ventura himself. Finally, someone was able to smack all of those talking points back into Hannity's face.

I would love to see Jesse go up against "Limpnuts" next. But, I know that won't happen, "King Oxy", will never go one-on-one with someone who knows his facts.

81. Awesome Jesse is pretty good.
I hate how republicans never fess up for their mess ups. Its always the persons fault who came before them, which I can see but when they fuck it up for the next guy, I inherited this is no longer an option. Bush inherited a recession my ass, what the dot com bust, that was a tenth what Obama got. Bush also inherited an over 200 billion dollar surplus. Dumb ass people.

I think Hannity is a little afraid of Jesse and that's why he doesn't drown him out when he talks.

85. I liked when Ventura went after Hannity for bullying guests.
Hannity responded with smarmy bonhomie, that he could never bully a tough guy like Ventura. Ventura would have none of that buddy-buddy stuff, and went on about how Hannity bullied others. I like people who aren't just in it for themselves in this life.

Reagan left office with the highest deficit of all previous years combined! And papa Bush continued. It took Clinton to start with a deficit and end with a surplus.

99. why do these guys keep complaining about the teleprompter
did they already forget obama's performances at the presidential press conferences and the presidential and primary debates. He answered all of his questions off the cuff and in my opinion, he sounds more articulate and intelligent when he does that. From what ive observed, he uses the teleprompter(or prepared statements on a paper since that's basically what a teleprompter is)the same time that every other president or speaker does. When they're giving a speech or introducing something or someone so whats the big deal? overall, jesse ventura did well i just wish he handled that teleprompter question a little better.
