No right-wing pundit I'm aware of is closer to the face of the conservative movement as expressed by the Tea Party pitchfork crowd. Is Glenn's meteoric popularity a sign that the far right is completely nuts?

This guy makes Rush 'I hope the president fails' Limbaugh look calm and rational. That's some achievement!

Get prepared because the Glenn Beck mix of faux Libertarianism, nativism, and populist American Christian fundamentalism is going to make a play to seize control of the Republican Party. If not by the mid-term election cycle definitely in time for the next presidential election.

26. The REAL problem is this.....
This is dangerous talk and its going to get people killed. Just wait...some Liberal talk show host
or politician is going to be murdered behind this. Remember Alan Berg? A liberal radio show host
shot and killed in his driveway. June 1984. These teabagging wingnuts are heavily armed and if
they think its their "Patriotic duty" they will kill someone. They are being urged to go and buy a
gun,if they don't already have one, and buy up all the ammo for the coming revolution. And who's
side do you think the law enforcement community will be on? Not our side, they have already proven
that. Look at the guys that have already gone off the deep end..........

:hide: :tinfoilhat: :wtf: Is anyone else worried????

2. "Nuts" enough to make himself a multimillionaire in a very short period of time.
He has consciously carved out a "niche" with the dittoheads, and it works for him.

At this point in my life, after listening to them for so long, I could do the same damned thing.

If I had no conscience. Which they do not.

First one to "slip" and call for Obama's assassination becomes a bigger hit than Rush. Unless he's the one who does it, which is entirely possible.

4. I think in Limbaugh's case he is simply parroting what he must to get paid.
Glenn Beck on the other hand strikes me as something entirely different. Even if he is just putting on a show, you would have to be out there to even think some of the crap he has pulled or said is appropriate imo.

Maybe he just does crazy better than the rest, but imo Glenn Beck puts the lunatic in lunatic fringe.

7. Disingenuous
I believe Rush gets notes and points from his "research" team when he walks in to work in the AM and he just riffs on that material saying what he thinks his ditto heads want to hear, but he himself could care less. Rush is concerned with Rush....period.

Beck is the same, but appears nuttier than Rush because he's not as good at it. How pitiful is that????

10. Is someone still asking that question???
I could answer that months ago. The guy is a total whacko...but that makes it on the propaganda network. It's all they have left now. Nut balls that stir up the brain dead and encourage them to run for their pitchforks and teabags.

He's nuts. He's been nuts and will screw a mule on his show if he thought it would give him good ratings. The guy is beyond hope. While you are counting the nuts...don't forget to put vannity, ingraham, bor and half the other crew from the propaganda network.

What a simple question!

11. He looks like a teevee preacher to me
And the way they operate, they take the pulse of their congregation and they get as obscene and as maniacal as their congregation will let them. In the case of Faux, Beck is evidently the first one on that network to realize that Faux viewers are complete idiots and they will endorse any of this crap. If Beck is testing the limits of his audience, there is no limit with that audience. They are all as deranged as he is.

13. FEMA Concentration Camps?!?!?! WTF? I think that we are giving FEMA too much credit.
Although the idea of a concentration camp is crazy enough. However, I think that the real crazy thing is to assume that FEMA is capable or organizing anything, let alone a concentration camp. These guys could not even bring ICE to a group of people in a stadium.

28. seriously
there has been a run on ammo in the country because of this nonsense. Happens everytime a democrat takes office but this is the worse I have seen it.

Ammunition shortage hitting Central Texas
http://www.statesman.com/news/content/news/stories/local/04/24//0424ammo.html

Obama's gun stance spurs run on ammo
http://yorkdispatch.inyork.com/yd/local/ci_12190627
"The whole country is out of ammunition," Morris said. "The day Obama was elected, everything went through the roof."

Ammo scarce after many stock up
http://www.gainesville.com/article/20090426/articles/904261007
Many online sites are out of .45-caliber and 9-millimeter ammunition, as well.

Now you know it's not the left doing this.

29. At around the 7:00 mark, did I hear Chris Wallace say Beck is a "meteor" at Fox?
If so, did Wallace misstate himself, or did he say what most of us really think of Beck? Or, did Wallace mean that Beck is a rising star?

A meteor is a piece of space debris that's burning up as it streaks across the Earth's atmosphere. That kind of describes Beck. Let's hope he has the same fate as a meteor.

He is the mainstream of the party these days. The whole GOP is basically a cult, as Bob Herbert says in today's NY Times.

33. A danger to Republicans or Democrats or the general public?
When I think of Beck and danger I think of him inciting violence. We've had a couple examples of violent right-wing nuts who followed big name pundits like O'Reilly and Beck.

However, I wonder if the real danger is to the Republican Party? Beck is shoving the Republican Party so far to the right it may start looking as nutty as him. Even moderate Republicans are starting to bail.
