1. Beyond absurd. There is no evidence that there was any sincere interest
on the Republican side to find a 'reasonable' compromise'. They wanted to walk away from it.

This is clearly proven by the fact that not a single Republican congressman voted for the stimulus package even though many had in fact expressed support for it in interviews.

The minority caucus leadership went into the negotiations with their final position already decided.


If more proof is required then look simply at Senator Grassley. He gets Obama to accept $ 30 billion ammendment and then votes against the bill.


There are no known facts to support her opinion.
