Bill Prendergast at the http://dumpbachmann.blogspot.com/2009/03/watch-countdown-clip-about-michele.html">Dump Bachmann blog:

If you only watch one Countdown segment on Bachmann, I recommend that it be this one.

Olbermann's guest Jonathan Alter is an MSNBC analyst and Newsweek editor. He notes that she has "got a little problem with reality," which is an understatement. But the real reason the discussion here is worth watching is because of what it points out about Bachmann's latest rhetoric: it's not about elections any more, it's not about proceeding to change the government via constitutional or traditional political procedures--

It's about revolution. Here is a US Congressional representative referring to extra-legal, non-constitutional methods to change the government and remove "Marxist" elected officials from power. (Note that conservative commenter Sean Hannity didn't challenge that approach to changing government. I'll bet he didn't challenge Bachmann's claim that Obama and congressional Democrats are "Marxists," either.)

That's a very un-American way for an elected official to present a call for change. Elected officials are supposed to support the system of elections that brought them to power--not to call on Americans to ignore those results and "rise up."....

1. " I like that girl: that quality of quiet graciousness."
I'm kidding. Line from a movie. She sounds like a loon but she's getting attention, which is probably her aim..... career-move-wise.

Out of curiousity: I'm sure everyone that voted for her also voted for Coleman for senate; but did Coleman campaign with her? Endorse her? Has he commented about her recent , ummm.... observations?

4. From Tweety's show
Leave it to Matt Taibbi to tear into Michelle Bachmann in a way only he can. Matthews had to know what type of response he was going to get here and Taibbi
didn't disappoint. His reply when asked about some of Michelle Bachmann's latest hackery.

Taibbi: You know it's funny this morning outside of Penn Station I saw a guy huffing glue out of a paper bag, and he was making more sense than Michelle
Bachmann was making. I can't believe it. You need to pass a written test to drive a car in this country but I bet this woman can't even write her name in the
ground with a stick. I mean it's just unbelievable to me that this person is in the Congress.

6. A reality-challenged Republican? Who'd have thought?
She's like the icon for these freaks out in Montana (no offense to the sane people out there) who are warning us about the FEMA camps and the commies coming and making their mailboxes.

14. Republicans are challenged by the reality they created. Who'd have thought?
Edited on Sat Mar-28-09 01:29 PM by L. Coyote
Almost everyone

Meanwhile, Bachmann hails us from somewhere under the Bush bus with the rest of that corrupt minority.

7. What she means is reaction.
A conservative revolution is a contradiction in terms. And for the benefit of lurking conservatives who delude themselves about the founding of this great country, I'll just observe that abolishment of monarchy and hereditary aristocracy and an established church were very definitely lefty moves that horrified genuine conservatives such as Edmund Berk, er, Burke.

10. In "Up-is-Down-Ville" this is part of the cover-up of the 2000 Junta!
Edited on Sat Mar-28-09 01:33 PM by L. Coyote
KO is missing the point she makes by default, a Junta cover-up ploy.

She does it in such a way that it does not get challenged,
by supplying a truckload of other stuff to challenge.

Her reality problem is "we have 230 years ... continuous ..."
is a falsehood, fact that she strives so cleverly to deny.

Circus clown at work, making everyone watch the wrong hand.
Can we discuss Bush crimes in the stealing Florida 2000 context now?

What we see between the lines is the discomforting anxiety
of facts Republicans attempt to deny, their own corrupt history.
Our national nightmare ending is one beginning  in Up-is-Down-Ville.

Her talking about the 10 trillion dollar debt as if it's solely the Democrat's fault is like the kid getting the 9th-inning third strike being blamed for the loss by the two kids that struck out before him.

16. Not even close-Hutchison is a clever, seasoned politician who knows her way around the
DC maze, but she is in no way even close to being as bat-shit crazy as Bachmann - And I'm not sure which is more dangerous.

17. If she were a democrat uttering such things.....
She'd be awaiting trial for inciting a riot.

She shoulda been down on the actual streets in St Paul last year. Maybe the police would have hit her up with batons.

It's one thing when it's a protest group. We aren't the law, but having someone from Congress inciting violence.... has to be some very impeachable offense.

Hannity comes up with some of the worst vile horseshit he can dig up. He revels in put hate and rage and it shows it every time he comes on. Alan couldn't take it anymore. Never forget one time, I was watching Hannity and Alan once... it was some protest against the army trying to recruit college students or high school students... And Sean being the blindfolded guy he is said it with full rage on.. "Those people hate us" Like hell. It's Sean and his ilk that use that hate shit to spread their own hate. My God isn't the God of Hate, so I'm not sure what god Sean's following, but it sure isn't Christian. Even Wicca doesn't preach hate.

21. It's one thing for your everyday person who is not in the public eye to sit around and
talk about such things for fun or even to get emotions out with like-minded folk whilst sitting around having coffee or whatnot. Someone who is politically active spouting this drivel on camera? Uh, big no-no.

Seriously though, I can't think of one Democratic officeholder who was actually going around saying stuff like this. If there was please correct me, but I'm racking my brain here and can't think of one case.
