1. I think Americans have been making a lot of sacrifices--forced
on us during the last 8 years:

America's reputation on the world stage
thousands of American lives lost in Iraq and Afghanistan
substantial amounts of our life savings
our manufacturing base
countless jobs
the list goes on.

2. Ah, but Chuck was so right...
Why isn't the President asking Americans to sacrifice...

...their jobs
...their savings
...their retirement accounts
...their hard-earned tax dollars
...their houses
...their credit

He is letting the average American off too easy!!! While expecting the poor bankers and financial executives to sacrifice their bonuses if they want TARP money!!!

That's just not fair!!! :sarcasm:

3. Chuck is looking less like a journalist and more like a fat cat toady
with fat cat dribble on his chin

4. I think Chuck Todd came up with a metaphor, and got a little too enamored with it
this isn't that kind of war; the WWII public sacrifice model doesn't apply here.

And the President is exactly right. People ARE sacrificing. People are BEING sacrificed.

I think the Prez is reinforcing our core values--responsibility, integrity, compassion--as a reminder of what we hold onto.

7. When Todd said some people are comparing this economy to being at war, I thought, "Says who?"

Todd was just pulling stuff out of his butt to make himself sound smart, but he failed miserably.

I think the WH Press Corps had been lulled into stupidity after 8 years of Bush. They don't know how to handle a president who is quick on his feet on answering questions.

5. I think we should all reply back by demanding no more bailouts!
I think the President should stop the bailout and start the prosecutions for fraud and outright robbery of the people and the Treasury by the crooks on Wall Street and the Lobbyist-Lawmakers that allowed it to happen! Maybe what we need is an out right nationwide strike and the best time to do it would be April 15th since that is a day we all have to look out for! Anyone else agree with me?

6. Todd's question is a reflection of his isolation from what is going on out here and his
swarmy smart aleck personality. I used to watch WJ all the time. When he appeared to report from The Hill or wherever he was - I could feel myself tense up because it was so obvious that he was pimping for Republicans. I have no respect for him. He can't even keep that swarmy smirk off his face when he asks a question.

Sacrifices have been forced on us thanks to Don Dick George and their bosses. Sacrifices are a given. And those who haven't been affected yet are wondering when it might come for them - we're not waiting around out here. The rug was pulled out from under us and he has the nerve to ask that question?

Let us know if Todd tells anyhone what he had in mind? He grows more repulsive by the day.

Let's not get into the sacrifices of soldiers and families - that still is going on and it is a very sore point with me.

Going now to read the article about the U.S. and the Taliban partnering in the drug trade - did I read that right? And we have to have soldiers for that?

8. Chuckie needs to explain what sacrifices he expects Americans to make
So many have had to sacrifice so much while the rich party on. Maybe Chuck should look in a mirror and see what he can sacrifice.

12. Chuck Toad apparently doesn't remember
that no recent president has, in fact, asked us to sacrifice during a war. Let's see, the last one told us to go shopping. Maybe MSNBC should go shopping for a new White House reporter.
