2. The way she got up and applauded when SCHIP was mentioned was great though

To me that moment really struck why women's rights are so important. I read somewhere that one of the biggest things the developing world can do to end poverty is stop oppression of women, because you only get to use half the talent and creativity of your population when you do that. Pelosi's response, and knowing what a strong supporter she is of SCHIP really hit that fact home for me that 60 years ago she'd be lucky to be a small time mayor, now here she is the speaker of the house fighting to get millions of kids healthcare.

that's what disappointing. She lacks a certain sort of courage to pursue what is good, right and true.
