1. The writer of the letter said Thom and his ilk don't want to be un-compassionate, like it was an
indictment and a terrible character flaw.

On a different note, I hope Thom Hartmann overtakes Limpballs as the most listened to host in the country. He deserves it.

15. Excellent observation, 20score.
That is the idea the Republican economic terrorists promote. Giving a shit about somebody besides yourself, especially someone who doesn't have much money, is unpatriotic. "That's not how our system works! They're poor and don't have health insurance because they're lazy"! :patriot:

24. His numbers, but whatever rating system is used to count such things,
indicate that he is the ONLY progressive talk show host in the top 10 in America.

16. It's sad that we have not done this years ago...
instead we have made the insurance companies and corporations partners in Medicare. We started down this road long ago with Nixon and Kaiser.

21. Cenk is way up there too.
Unfortunately, Cenk is not broadcast on KTLK in L.A. They have a woman on in the afternoon who is OK but not as good as Cenk. Then they have Ron Reagan who is OK. I think they want to keep some gender balance by having a woman in the afternoon in what used to be Randi's spot. I mostly get to hear/watch Cenk here on DU. Thanks for posting his reports.

13. K&R, He should be on TV, also.
I have only heard him on the internet. Hartmann on the top marginal rate and social security are really eye opening. These points have been completely erased from the American dialog. Again, it's the media! The media problem is our most pressing issue. Years and years of Limbaugh and Hannity telling the American people that social security is in trouble is having a significant effect.

Can you IMAGINE if Bush and his consoviet jackals got their way and succeeded in privatizing SS???

I try not to think about it but it's just a freaky image that keeps flashing in my brain.

20. what a tragic disservice to their communities that 1000 radio stations
put on 24/7/365 of lying GOP propaganda and hate when there are guys out there like Thom Hartmann getting shut out by the monopoly.

23. AirAmerica.com takes up so much broadband that I had to get Hartman by going to
KPTK in Seattle WA on the internet. This way I can listen to the talk radio show and still do my online business without interruption. It's a progressive talk radio station with other talk show hosts as well.

26. Love Me Some Thom Hartmann!
Ive listened to him online for years - I have an XM liberal station at home, and off and on there has been a liberal over the air station in my area, Columbus, but always these people have opted for Ed Schultz, who is on at the same time, though they do play Thom tape delayed. It's been frustrating and IMHO mostly has to do with the declining attention span of a lot of folks. Big Ed is bombastic and he spends too much time talking about hunting and fishing for my blood - plus he sounds like the drug addled gasbag Rush, which sends chills up my spine. Thom is brilliant, always has great historical perspectives on the news, including hundreds of old clips he plays of FDR, JFK, even Dwight Eisenhower and back to Teddy Roosevelt. Also he has the people's senator, Bernie Sanders from Vermont, on every Friday for an hour.

He would be awesome on MSNBC. Keith had him on Countdown a few weeks ago and he did a great job.

28. K & R for Thom Hartmann, always.
I think Cenk is a better fit for the MSNBC slot. But IMO Thom is the Rolls-Royce of liberal talkers.

It's really good to see him posted on DU!! I'm a daily listener to Thom's show, can't live without it. Same for Cenk.
