1. I haven't seen anything like that since 1970 in Washington DC when
the DC police did the same thing. Just wading through a peaceful crowd with nightsticks beating the shit out of everybody within reach. Clubbing people and then walking past the injured and cowering.

I guess everything old is new again.

Can we impeach now?

2. This was insane
If "several people" threw missiles, go after them - don't attack everyone in sight. I'm no cop-hater - there are better things to get worked up about - but LA badly needs to do something about this brutal force.

6. What is more important?
The police in this country are abusing there power more and more often. It needs to be put to a stop.

3. Bratton is a PIG, and must resign, or must be relieved of his duty
I have no doubt, however, he was acting at the behest of the powers to be in Los Angeles, who wanted to make sure that such protests not be so well attended in the future.

Remember Ruben Salazar!!

4. As someone who once lived there I concur!
And as far as "more important things to worry about", no THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT. I am very angry at the treatment the women, children, and reporters by these cops. You don't have to "hate" cops to know that these girly boys were out of control and then some. Fire them all. NOW!

5. Tom Joad on Cops: "They're workin' on our decency"
"Did you ever see a deputy that didn't have a fat ass? An' they waggle their ass an' flop their gun aroun'. Ma," he said, "if it was the law they was a-workin' with, why, we could take it. But it ain't the law. They're tryin to make us cringe an crawl like a whipped bitch. They tryin' to break us. Why, Jesus Christ, Ma, there comes a time when the on'y way a fella can keep his decency is by takin’ a sock at a cop. They're workin' on our decency.

Tom Joad in "The Grapes of Wrath" by John Steinbeck

9. Why do the police wear full riot gear at a peaceful protest/ march
It makes for open hositlity. Also, I don't believe this is the first time that police in LA have used excessive force while "protecting" protestors. I am not sure what they were trying to do... That excessive force could have resulted in a full onslaught of rioting in LA for days.

10. This sort of crap just pisses me off.
I swear, if they keep this up, cops are going to start getting killed very soon.
