Why was Cheney on a wheelchair ?

It just doesn't make sense. The man not only is rich but also serious cardiac. He had a huge staff to move boxes, laws (and even US constitutions!) out of the way for him. Why was he carrying boxes around ? Even if he was, how many people you know got stuck to a wheelchair after moving / throwing their backs ?
