1. Stupid conservatives
They will be the end of human civilization. It was possible for hunter gathers to progress to farmers to villages with specialized trades only because the stupid conservatives kept getting weeded out along the way. Stupid conservative hunters wouldn't try out better weapons and instead of killing and eating a mammoth, they got trampled. Stupid conservative farmers kept planting the same crop in the same place the way it had always been done, until their crop yield fell to zilch and they starved. Stupid conservative tradesmen never quite picked up on the new innovations and had to be carried along by the more perceptive, never realizing that they were the low end of productivity.

The more complex society is and the more programs that can be put in place to divert resources from progressive areas to stultified, backwards areas, the less it can progress. It would be nice if those who didn't believe in evolution were prevented from using the results of geological exploration, petroleum products. It would be nice if those who didn't believe in government programs would quit cashing their social security checks. The problem with believing in karma is not that it doesn't eventually come, but it takes far to long to give people their much deserved slap.

4. Joe learned how to "report" by watching Faux.
Maybe he'd editorialize less if he knew what "editorialize" means.
