5. Yeah, I suspected for quite a while that Stewart really cared about

our country and was as angry as I about the way it's being destroyed. Later, I saw him break character on Crossfire and that confirmed it. I've always laughed at the Daily Show but now I revere it and Jon Stewart. He and his show are fellow patriots, hell I wouldn't doubt if some of them are fellow DUers.

Crossfire live, and it was then that I became a loyal TDS viewer, because I saw that he was patriotic in his defense of truth in spite of his comedic genre.

16. In OKC, then it's Doctor Who...

... with the first part of its blatant, raspberry-filled mockery of the Gulf War entitled "Aliens of London", where a bunch of farting aliens (it's fairly tastefully done) stage a mock alien attack to get the world powers to do what they want, with -- SPOILER ALERT --


the ultimate goal of turning the earth into a chuck of radioactive cinder to be sold to other aliens for fuel. Nice, huh? Stewart's interview with McCain is why I watch the show: he was brilliant, and would not back down from McCain's talking points. Beautiful stuff.

"You made yourself... look like a pinhead on national TV". In the context of the Goodfellas metaphor, this was nicely ambiguous, suggesting, if the viewer chooses to take it that way, that Gonzales is now a "made guy".

19. Jon Stewart's intelligence and insight humbles me and likely frightens the

stuffing out of those who oppose him and who are smart enough to know what they're up against.

I would vote for a Jon Stewart/ Stephen Colbert ticket over anyone else in the field in a heartbeat. Not because they're funny or cool, but because they're smart.

This is truly an unjust world...
