This would imply that she chose to be gay after having enough experiences with men. By her own statement, she did not choose to be gay. Every gay person I have ever asked has said they did not choose to be gay.

Are there any gay people here who chose to be gay?

or maybe she didn't realize she was gay until later.

I know several people who have married the opposite sex, had kids, and then realized they were gay. It was particularly common when being gay was more of a stigma.

But so do a lot of gay people who haven't come to terms with their identity yet...

There are probably bisexual people who choose to commit to one person. That's plausible too... I think the gradient of human sexuality includes a lot of different experiences

This is not a Ca. issue this is a nationwide issue. This isn't a gay issue either, this involves everyone who believes in civil rights, everyone who has children or is going to have children.

That's EXACTLY how I felt when I heard the news about the marriage bans. I felt as if I was attacked. And after I cried and I was so happy seeing our President-elect and his family in Grant Park that historic Tuesday night...I then heard about...Arizona, Florida, Arkansas and California. I was crushed. I was hurt. And yes, it DID seem as though we took a giant step forward with Obama's election...and then 12 steps back with the bigotry of the marriage and adoption bans.

I don't know if Wanda Sykes will ever see this, but thank you, Wanda, for expressing how I feel.
