Associated Press posted this clip on YouTube as "McCain Links Obama to Oil Profits," but failed to mention the two most significan aspects:

1). McCain bused in 4000 school kids to fill in the gaps in the audience, and

2). He gave a shout-out to Joe the Plumber, who was a no-show.

Supposedly 6000, according to the Huffington Post piece, but that's an "estimate by the fire marshal." In that group of 2000 are the bus drivers, whatever teachers came along, etc.

"oil company handouts from Obama" trip? The bill he was referring to (in one of the debates he mentioned it as being sponsored by Bush/Cheney) was an energy reform bill. Yes it did add tax breaks for most energy companies, oil included, BUT it also raised some taxes on those same companies. As FactCheck.org points out, the total change in revenues from the bill was a net GAIN from higher taxes of an estimated $300 million dollars over 11 years. Another note from that article was that most of the $2.6 billion dollars in tax breaks on that bill "went to electric utilities, and nuclear, and also to alternative fuels research
and subsidies for energy-efficient cars, homes and buildings – not to the oil industry."
