3. WTF? Why would he run down Milwaukee? I'll bet he hates Pittsburgh too, then--
must not like medium-sized rust-belt cities?

5. I visit Milwaukee every year and think it's a GREAT Midwestern city!!
It's cold and dreary in winter, but then it has great winter recreation opportunities. And in the spring and fall it's GORGEOUS. Never been there in midsummer, but I like how apparently nobody needs to water their lawns, lol, because it ACTUALLY RAINS.

Great food, great culture, fabulously redeveloped downtown. McCain sucks toad ass on this attitude of his.

7. Great city! My only problem is that Bud Selig is still owning your baseball team.
What's up with that?

12. Actually Selig hasn't owned the team in for several years
The owner is Mark Attanasio who has spent more money and helped make Milwaukee competitive again.

14. Ah! so that's why the brewers have done so well in the past few seasons.
Now only if Bud will step down as commisioner, then baseball will have a chance at becoming better again.

On a side note, did you know that actor Paul Giamatti is the son of the late MLB Commisioner A. Bartlett Giamatti.

16. This was a few years back at a Diamondbacks game
Richie Sexson who was with the Brewers was playing for the Diamondbacks at that time and McCain while sitting with a reporters at a Dbacks game in Arizona mentioned when Sexson came up to bat, "Why would he want to play there? I'd hate to live in Milwaukee."

20. Speaking as a Phils fan who disses the Mets - I'll defend McCain
on this one - it's actually okay to dis the town that's playing your team - as long as it's said only during a game, in which case it can be excused as "heat of battle".

I don't actually think New York is full of loud, ugly, foul-mouthed, baseball-ignorant, brainless, filthy, stinking, unwashed, pushy yahoos.

I've only said that at the stadium during Phillies-Mets games.

Normally, I hold New Yorkers in very high regard. :)

As a lifelong Mets fan and Phillies hater, I would like to congratulate you on your World Series victory. Saying that really hurt my insides.

Edit for Spelling

26. Very gracious, NY4Biden!
I have a confession to make - Although I loathe them now, for a few years in the early 80's, I was a closet Mets fan. All because I thought Darryl Strawberry was so hot. When the Mets were in town, I'd actually move from our great season ticket seats by 1st base all the way around to right field (which had empty seats) just to watch him from the back. That man had the PERFECT body.

On the other hand, several years later, we were unfortunate enough to be seated a few rows in front of some drunken Mets fans for an entire game, and they yelled and cursed for the whole 9 innings. Driving home that night, a girlfriend and I were stopped at a light on Broad Street, wearing no Phillies gear, and who pulls up next to us to ask directions? The exact same Mets fans. My friend smiled sweetly and sent them into the worst neighborhood in Philadelphia. "oh, you just head up Broad Street about 2 miles, then right on Diamond, and the entrance to 95 is right there!" Evil, I know, but who were we to spit in karma's face when she handed those boys to us on a silver platter like that?

Anyway, I'll enjoy the win, knowing that the Phillies cheap owners won't pay the players enough, and they'll probably disperse to the 4 winds next season....

15. Milwaukee's not the reddest part of the state
Milwaukee as a whole votes pretty Democratic.

Waukesha County is pretty Republican but Milwaukee as a whole is a fairly liberal place to be. The problem here is RWers own the media so there is no Democratic representation and 1130 WISN and 620 TMJ are basically day-long GOP infomercials.

There are far redder places in Wisconsin like Fond Du Lac and the rural areas around it or some of the other rural communities to the west and northwest.

The big cities tend to vote Democratic... Milwaukee, Madison (super-progressive city), Oshkosh has been flipped, Appleton's on the verge... etc.

21. Really strange, considering that the Pack is a socialist owned team
Wish all teams could be publicly owned like that. Maybe it's like the Alaska public oil dividends--it ain't socialism when WE do it.
