3. OK
I'm an atheist and ever since I moved to Ohio, I've not had a very good opinion of Christians. This is a Christian I have absolutely no issue with. I could care less what she believes and she has no desire to legislate her beliefs. Plus, she is able to reason out the best candidate and articulate it very well, I plan on showing this to a lot of people.

Thanks! :hi:

19. Try reading or listening to Jim Wallis... especially his new book,
The Great Awakening.

Learn about the historical foundation of the Evangelicals... they were the ones who were the Abolitionists.

Learn that exciting history, and how they are reclaiming that history.

Then start to realize what this will mean for the Dems UNLESS we pull
our heads out and stop bashing them, and begin to join them in fighting against poverty!!!!

There is a HUGE sea change happening, if the Dems insist on ignoring it, and speaking ill of others in the way they have in the past, it will be DISASTER for the party!

Give Jim Wallis an open-minded read. Just as open-minded as the woman in the video.

It's worth the time.

16. Sorry you have that opinion....
but many Christian are just like her. To believe in Christ and his message is to but others before yourself. In fact we had this very same spirited discussion in our Sunday school class today. I don't ask that my political leaders profess Christianity or ANY faith-just that they act and govern with a sense of morals like take care of the least of us, not kill others, etc. Anyone can talk a talk but I am more interested in the walk.

8. She's GREAT!
A thinking woman who easily manages to keep her religion out of her politics, and who respects the views of others.

I love her.

K&R, for sure.

22. Actually....
her politics ARE rooted in her religion. Don't let some of the televangelists tell you what a evangelical or even a regular Christian looks like. I met a whole bunch more like this lady in church today.

Our Sunday school topic: rendering to Caesar and when do we as Christians stop. Basically we decided when the government became immoral it was our duty to change the direction. And hat is when the pastor reminded us that in this country WE are the Caesar. It was great.

9. This woman is awesome and would be more qualified
than St Sarah the Palin to be VP. There are fundie Christians who will say she's not a "real" Christian because she's pro choice of course.

I forwarded this to some folks on my email list. It needs to become viral. Show the fundies out there that they don't need to march lockstep with Pat Robertson and Dobson.

15. Day-um! She gets it!
And I think that there are a lot of evangelicals out there who finally "get it." They might not be visible or vocal, but they know they were sold a bill of goods in 2000 and 2004.

28. As I said above, read Jim Wallis.
There, you will find deep thought.

His new book, "The Great Awakening" has much for Dems to ponder!

"God's Politics" was a best seller for a reason.

24. I HAD a wonderful Christian friend who I never spoke to again --- she voted Bush 2004
Edited on Sun Oct-19-08 09:40 PM by quantessd
She was such a sweet young woman. I visited her at her home in June 2004, and was horrified to see a "Bush-Cheney 2004" sticker on her fridge. That just happened to be the last time I talked to her. I never spoke up about the Bush 04 sticker, although she might have seen a disgusted look on my face. It didn't make me dislike her, but just turned out that I never contacted her again after that day.

She is white and her husband is Filipino. I wonder if they are voting for Obama this time, like the lady in the video?

(edit spelling)
