Everything has been so serious lately and I thought I'd just change the tone with a little comedy video. It's dark in itself but I think that it's pretty funny, especially in the middle.

This has more probablity of being linked at freerepublic and used as a tool of how hateful liberals are against republicans and how you need to "protect yourself" than actually sway someone's opinion on the matter.

This will more likely solidify someone who's wavering to vote against the "liberals" just as the crazy video's people post of McCain supporters who say crazy stuff about Obama does in reverse.

Fast Forward 4 weeks when the election is over and I would have passed the thread without a comment as I wouldn't care. But being an avid reader of the Freeper bullshit I know I'll be seeing this thread linked.

Long story short, you're hurting not helping things.

And really, all they are doing is taking what repubs actually do and taking it to an extreme. That's what comedy is all about. Look at any TV show and you'll find the same type of humor.

Looks like a creative educational tool delivered to a nation in love with violence, it speaks to them daily in their media and they listen like it was E. F. Hutton with a hot stock tip.

Fight fire with fire, or don't complain when your village is napalmed.

This is not over the top by any means, it is simply the facts of the situation we find ourselves in reduced into a short video for the attention span deficient American populace.

Harsh, yes, lacking all merit or truth, no.

Turning away from the reality of the situation does nothing to change it.

But I think the answer to your dilemma comes down to this...

Democrats tend to give a shit about other people and don't want to show their faults as being detrimental to the well being of the nation as a whole.

Republicans care only for themselves and couldn't get a single candidate elected without making a zit into Mount Pele.

Wasn't there an article in the NY times about how Republicans are "happier" than democrats? I think it was a "red / blue pill" situation where democrats actually care about other people and know what's going on and Republicans sort of have their heads in the clouds.

It's all about Republicans taking the "Blue Pill" and then when their perfect little lives are in danger (i.e. confronting wrongs etc) they freak out and can't handle it.

18. Look, the arguement against torture is that....

...we are better than those who torture. Some people within the neo-conservative movement felt that it is ok to torture because our enemies would certainly do it, and that was wrong. There are some people in the republican party that would certainly make something as ugly as this and claim it was funny. Remember some of the early McCain ads? Remember the defense? "Lighten up, its supposed to be funny" as if anything, no matter how wrong, becomes ok with a bit of humor or at least a claim to it. We don't need to be those people. We don't need to be ugly because our opponents are ugly. We don't need to try to veil inappropriateness under the guise of "humor." Please, take this hateful garbage down.
