I got this off a Phish (yes the hippie rock band) message board. A lot of people in different states are getting this message. This one is from North Carolina.

It just can't get any slimier. Time for Obama to pull out the AIP and the connections to Saddam.

13. No bombing needed thank you.
Unlike Pugs, I'd never suggest anyone should bomb John McCain, or a server or do any kind of damage to another person or property.

We don't need to bomb, we just need to vote. Welcome to DU, by the way.

5. This is infuriating - McCain is such a lying slimebag.
The polls show that McCain's tactics turn people off, yet at the same time, they do work to some degree. Responses need to come from Democrats who are NOT Obama spokespeople, IMO.

7. And McCain is caught in another incitement to fear and potential
violence.

We know why he is so devious. He is desperate to win and causing fear by peddling lies, while faining his disdain and condemnation,is part of his unconscionable personality.

Not what we want in our President, that's for sure. We have had too much of this already with the current misleading Republican dominance.

"This call is paid for by McCain-Palin 2008 and the Republican National Committee at 202 863-8500".

That number is answered by the Republican National Committee's automated voice messaging system.

16. This phone message is a phony.
McCain said in last night's debate that he doesn't care about the domestic terrorist Bill Ayers, so it looks like someone is just trying to make McCain look hypocritical and dishonest.

;)

17. Not to go off on a tangent, but did the Weather Underground *kill* anyone in their bombings?
Edited on Thu Oct-16-08 04:52 PM by krkaufman
(Not excusing or supporting their approach; am merely looking for verification of one of the statements in the phone message.)

p.s. Ok, a quick google confirmed my impression... that the Weather Underground bombings killed ZERO people. The only people to have died as a result of The Weathermen's turn away from the civil disobedience approach were 3 members of the group, itself. (It was after this fortunate accident that The Weathermen went underground, becoming The Weather Underground.)
Clinton said "people died" in 1970s bombings by a radical group of which an Obama acquaintance was a member. In fact, the deaths were of three members of the Weather Underground itself, who died when their own bombs accidentally exploded.

Sounds like Hillary Clinton should be on the leading edge of fighting back against these smears, since she was similarly mistaken earlier in the campaign.

21. That's correct: the Weather Underground bombings killed no one
The Ohio national guard killed more Americans than the Weather underground.

That's a fact.

22. Not to mention that The Weathermen turned to violence ....
... largely because of the violence they saw being perpetrated on their fellow countrymen (aside from the Vietnamese). The Weathermen were reacting to what they viewed as the systematic assassination of black leaders within the Black Panther Party, a viewpoint that has been shown to be historically correct. And that's after years of non-violent civil disobedience, only to see the assassinations of JFK, MLK, and RFK.

The anti-abortion movement has killed more Americans than the Weather Underground.
