Joe the Plumber, who McCain cited numerous times during the final Presidential debate, compared Barack Obama to Sammy Davis, Jr. saying that he got a "tap dance" from Obama, which was "almost as good as Sammy Davis, Jr."

I saw Barack's conversation with this un appreciative jerk.

Barack took a lot of time to explain to him that since he would be purchasing a business that would make him $250,000 he would pay a higher tax rate under the Obama plan.

Then Barack remembered that there would be other compensations for small businesses and those would probably reduce his taxes.

Not knowing the exact details of his question Barack did his best to let this guy know that it was time for the middle class to get a tax brake and the upper earning percentages would be asked to pay their fair share as they would have under (Clinton or Reagan?).

As gracious as Barack was, it was obvious he made no progress. Now we see why. All he thought of was the color of Barack's skin. I wouldn't have thought this if he hadn't compared him to Sammy Davis Jr. Wow. I'm so sorry that we still have to deal with this kind of stuff.

Once again, John McCain shows how out of touch he is on the Middle Class. 95% of Americans earn LESS than 250k a year.

First, BO actually showed up at his neighborhood AND graciously spent the time to try to talk to someone who simply is ideologically dead to BO.

Second, this guy SOME DAY wants be "rich" enough to get the big republican tax break, but is a LONG WAY from it. He is the PROTOTYPE republican voter in that regard, like Huck Finn HAPPILY carrying water for people who could give a rats tail abot him.

FINE if he wants to maintain his angry/pathetically removed from reality view of government, but show a little respect for the candidate who actually came to his area, and who GRACIOUSLY spent time talking to him.

Joe the plumber has done an excellent job of demonstrating that no matter how clear the answer is, some people just do not want to hear it. He had the actual candidate right in front of him answering the question as directly and clearly as is possible. Period. Obama, short of bringing up Joe's tax history and business plan, laid out the answer very specifically. He did not give him the answer that he may have wanted to hear, but it was certainly very clear and direct. This has shown me an important lesson. For some folks, no matter what you tell them, they have their minds already made up.


BTW, Sammy Davis Jr. was before his time. I suspect racism. Probably a huge Rush fan and has spent the last months bashing Obama on Ayers, Socialism, ACORN and any other crap without base. How would he look to his friends if he suddenly supported the guy he has been bashing all along? Can't have that.
