3. He knows what he is doing

He's not answering questions, he's speaking "straight to the American people"... where have you heard this before? Yes, Palin said that in her "debate" where she pointed out that she may not answer the questions. This guy is doing the same thing. He's using the air time to try to smack his bosses opponent. It matters not what the talking head interviewer says before he speaks.

Actually, I think it's a good strategy, in general, because these talking heads are seldom worth responding to anyway, although it fails because he has nothing to offer despite using the avoidance and redirecting techniques that often work so well when one has something to say.
