I have seen the last 3+ minutes posted on the HuffPo, so if you want to fast forward, that's up to you, but the whole thing's a trip and a half. I do wish the rest of them would make it a policy to always allow Elizabeth full reign to say whatever, because I truly believe that those who champion democracy (and therefore free speech), must never stifle even the most offensive person they come across. It is far better to QUESTION these types, in order to possibly unravel their twisted views (if that is what they possess). Otherwise, you look like a hypocrite, claiming to denounce fascism whilst using one of its tactics (attempting to silence dissent).

1. Remember when growups used to be on TV?
Barbara Walters used to be one herself, in fact.

2. I have never agreed with Dennis Miller on anything
until he said the "View was a post menopausal horror show."

4. What didn't you like about Babs' behavior? She has been pretty good lately, however...
it irked me when she kept saying: "Why can't both sides stop slinging mud from the past?" I don't think the Ayers' so-called controversy is the equivalent to the Keating scandal in the least. The latter relates to savings and loans and people losing their life savings!

5. I have heard otherwise...I think it'd be foolish and would actually hurt "The View"
The whole attraction is difference of opinion. Elizabeth has also emerged, post-Rosie, as a little conservative tigress. Sherri is conservative, but Elizabeth is very passionate about political issues so it makes sense that she has the juice to bring it when there is difference of opinion. If she went on Faux, she'd be just another Republican talking head.

6. Elizabeth Hasselbeck has more than used her freedom

of speech on the View. She has helped to spread lies and misconceptions. We should not allow her to just keep talking and then say that the others shouldn't question her viewpoints for fear of stifling her. Their freedom to question is just as important.

edited for a poorly written sentence. LOL

8. Question, but don't stifle, is my point!
I have heard her get talked over and I don't like that one bit. Let her say whatever she wants and THEN clear up the misconceptions. But they all have to be very well-versed on Obama, etc. in order to properly refute her claims. Cutting her off because she is supposedly lying just gives the impression of intolerance of opposing views (whether that's their intention or not).

13. You lost me on the "supposedly lying" part.
I think Elizabeth is the one who is less tolerant of other viewpoints.

15. Even if someone is lying, is intolerant, let them be
And then make YOUR case. But keeping them from expressing themselves only generates sympathy towards them and suspicion towards you. Never be afraid of allowing people to speak their minds.

24. You are right and if, in fact, there is going to be an opposing viewpoint
I would really hope it would be someone that really knew the facts instead of the talking points. Maybe there is a female Bill Buckley or one of the more intelligent conservatives. Surely there must be at least one.

9. McCain was NOT cleared of all charges
He was rebuked for his poor judgment by the Senate because since he took his bribes when he was a congressman they made up the bullshit excuse that they didn't have jurisdiction to punish him more.

10. And Sherri mentioned that even if McCain was ultimately cleared
it was an ASSOCIATION with the culprit (Keating)! Since we are talking about associations, that is...

17. This "blonde lizzy" is typical of the rw, catch slogan propaganda...
All spit and no substance. Were Ayers and Senator Obama close buddies? Did they make a social or political life together that I don't know about? Or did they happen to end up on a couple committees together, have their kids going to the same schools, reside in the same general area?

God hastlebitch, figure out what is important. Did Senator Barack Obama sit through these "fire and brimstone sermons" by Pastor Wright, or did was he "a member of the church" when these quotes were taken from the context and made into "anit-American rhetoric"?

These rw'er are so gullible and brain dead. It does NO GOOD to debate with them. Their little brains are chuck full of "talking points" from vannity and the rove machine. Disgusting little mites.

They need to tear her a new one on The View. God knows, she's been given a pass to splurt out her twisted logic and lies. She needs to be hammered on every one of her bull shit points. LET'S talk about mr. unfaithful and his beer wench. Let's talk about The Keating Five. He was reprimanded on that matter. Was he "innocent"? I don't think you reprimand someone who is innocent, or do we?

18. they made a good point about associations - if that is the measure
but there would be a phone book of bad associations by McCain throughout his lifetime -- and if they continue to go there, no doubt one-by-one those will be pulled out and drawn into the spotlight as the McCain Palin mess is trying to do. But what is really sad, is this shows that the McCain campaign tactic is working. we are all sitting here chatting about NON issues to our country. how quick we forget when we get sucked in.

19. I am not sucked in, but I think it's a better tact to let Lizzie yammer
on and on, parroting Sean Travesty's squawking points. THEN, educated up the yazoo in order to properly refute her, let it all hang out. And yesterday Whoopi tried to say something about Ayers being a different person today. I wish she would have stated very clearly that Ayers is now a professor of Education at University of IL, Chicago campus. She alluded to it but it came out very nebulous.

22. Sherri has come so far!
It's so good to see that Sherri has become educated and opinionated about politics. She used to just sit there like a dope when the conversation turned to politics.

I'm in favor of anyone who counters the right-wing, robot-like Elisabeth.
