During the 2006 election, when I was a graduate student there, one of my buddies and I went up to them and asked the UACR is they supported the war. They said yes. We handed them army recruitment papers and they ran away!

18. It only sank in for me because of the still, but...

not a typo, a HAND LETTERED SIGN. Somebody SLOWLY AND CAREFULLY drew that extra "n" in "Stundents." They not write it quickly with a huge marker, because the strokes of the letters would be a more uniform width. The strokes are at least finger-width, which means if they did not use a fatty marker they would have had to outline and then fill in each of the letters. "StuNdents." Not even a phonetic or nearly phonetic spelling like "moran."

16. Just a couple of pointers

I truly enjoyed watching the Republican candidate for State Senate, a "senior analyst" at Raytheon (remember the "Patriot" missile during Iraq Slaughter #1 that would nick Scuds and turn them into shrapnel to fall on and maim Israelis? That Raytheon!) stand there with his republican buddies and completely miss the spelling.

There's a piece in the video where a young fellow in a gray t-shirt does a wonderful double-take at the sign.

It was all shot live at the event. The music behind the establishing shot at the beginning and at the end was the actual live sound from the stage (of what turned out to be a rather mediocre hard rock/metal/rap band) but that tiny bit of music was serendipitous as hell, I thought.

Gotta hand it to the college repukes though. After about an hour or so somebody must have noticed (who would tell them? We sure as hell wouldn't) and they finally took the sign down and put up one that they hand-lettered to say "Spellers for McCain/Palin".

You can't make this sh*t up!
