1. I love it when he talks trickle down economics - the backbone of the Reagan economic "theory". nt

3. Exactly!
This didn't just start under Bush. This goes back to the Reagan revolution in the early 1980's. If anything, Barack is the "anti-Reagan" candidate.

5. Yes it does
Reagan was incredibly irresponsible, right from the start he negotiated with Iran for the hostages release while Carter was still President. Imagine a man elected but not in office making deals concerning weapons without the Congress or Presidents aproval?? Nobody ever seems willing to talk about that part of Reagan's legacy.
Also incredibly irresponsible was the trickle down economics. Everyone saw the defecit rising and even Bush1 raised taxes because he at least realized that we are only vulnerable fiscally. Every chance I get I tell GOP'ers when trickle down is the policy banks fail. They have laughed at me until this month always saying that the top money earners put it back in the economy but any thinking person realizes that they don't. You want money to be spent? build a bridge, hire blue collar workers, create a manufacturing and technical repair base. THOSE are the people that spend money, not the big earners.

I at least had respect for Bush1 because he was at least willing to be responsible to clean up after Reagan, whatever else he did funding guerrilla's and all the rest of his insane policies.

Reagan gets no respects as well as anyone who now says voodoo economics creates jobs.

7. Nice summary. The only respect Reagan gets from me is for his willingness to talk to Gorbie. nt

8. his willingness to talk to Gorbie
And even if he hadn't, the USSR would have collapsed under its own weight anyway.
