So much for free speech. I believe that this administration would like to see this type of thing on a much larger level.

1. Very sad
When will the bushes hire their brown-shirts to assault all peace protesters?

2. Typical Bush supporters.
They will pick on the opposition when they outnumber them.

They will break the law because they think it's OK for them to do so, since they are on the "right side." :eyes:

If they are ever caught, an appropriate sentence would be a year in Iraq, so they can see first hand what they are supporting.

Fuckers. Every last one of them. Every day that goes by, my tolerance level shrinks. How can people be so fuckin' dumb?

14. I think there were enough Bush supporters there to make a significant contribution
...to their Führer's "surge."

Why are they there? They should be in Iraq doing the bidding of Der Führer!

...and, yes: this man was assaulted and his property stolen from him and vandalized. Where are the police?

3. I'm sure the pro-war crowd would consider a one-on-one physical fight fair
if the lefty was a quadrapalegic ...

4. No Marshals?
Why go into a protest without safety equipment and marshals to monitor provocative activities???

5. He was down there to provoke and
Film wasn't he, I mean he went down by a bunch of flag waving rednecks camera in tow, was this part of the peace march route?
Not that I'm defending these assholes but I wouldn't go in some right wing redneck bar an start spewing a leftist liberal agenda for fear of my life.

6. That's right...
Don't step out of line...forget rights...just make sure you understand where and when your rights can be used...

You know, it's attitudes like yours that are actually destroying your country and not the rednecks...

You speak like a true Democrat...don't make waves.

16. I will
I'm 6-0, 210 lbs. and a former college football player and military man.

These assholes are pansies when confronted with someone larger and in much better shape. I've done it all my life in Kentucky, Ohio, Tennesee, W. Virginia.

Pansies I tell ya.

18. Brave Protestor
I got to the march about 10:30. Almost immediately I started hearing stories of protesters being pushed, shoved, and have their signs taken. In order to show what these thugs were really like someone had to get video. I applaud him on his courage. Nobody made the thugs act the way they did.

12. So when exactly was he "roughed up?" And I heard a LOT of people advising that he NOT be
touched, and advising to "let him go."

This is bullshit sensationalism.

13. Depends on what you mean by "roughed up".
Edited on Fri Mar-23-07 06:43 AM by William769
They did lay their hands on him several times. And in the State of Florida as I would guess most States, thats called Battery.

ON EDIT: I watched the video again, and I counted at least 4 times that could be seen on the video, also the signs were grabbed out of his hands, and at the end of the video you can see they destroyed one of his signs. So go ahead and add destruction of property also. Just as a footnote this is from someone with 20 years in law enforcement.

15. You know, when Bush came to Kansas City last year for a fund raiser...
I attended a demonstration that took place on Bush's route. There must have been hundreds there that day. Anyway, one Bush supported and a young girl who look like she could be his daughter showed up. Two Bush supporters in a field of hundreds of protesters. We all waited for Il Duce to drive by. When he did, we all held up our signs and shouted dissent. And the two Bush supporters held up their signs and shouted praise (the man only--his daughter looked like a scared bunny).

"Chuck" as I head the man tell an interviewer who asked his name and I engaged in "debate." I tried to get him to explain why he supports Bush and to give me his take on the many lies and deceptions of Bush. I might have got a little angry and sarcastic in my exchange with him, but not once did I:

1) Block his path
2) Push him
3) Take his sign and destroy it

It's too bad the Bushistas in this video didn't have the same respect and regard for the man they found offensive.

23. Remember those Talent supporters who were there?
They were all dressed up like they were going to church. That was too funny. We all were wearing anti-bush t-shirts and jeans and they were wearing suits and dresses and high heels.

Then we found out later that the Talent campaign had paid them to be there.

19. I took another look at the video
Does anyone now who posted it? Was it an anti war protester showing what the pro war thugs were really like or was it a pro war thug who is proud of what is in the video? I can’t believe the pro war thugs are that stupid.

Regardless, you KNOW the only reason they didn't pound that guy is out of fear of going to jail.

Morality wasn't what was stopping them.

Still, provocative or not, that guy has balls.
