I recently read an interview with the older guy who sponsored her for her first elected position on City Council. (Given the size of her community, it should have been called the wide spot in the road Council.) He said she got the Barracuda nickname not from opposing players, but from her own team mates on the girls' basketball team, because she was so competitive with them. She continually sucked up to the male coach, and actually would make sure and point out to the coach every mistake any of her team mates made, in case he hadn't seen them, to make herself look better by comparison. He said he always went to the games because his niece, who was a very good player, was on the team. Sarah was not among the best players, and he said he always wondered how she got so much floor time.
