First films from eldersforobama.com, an exciting new web-based effort from Tilson Films (http://tilsonfilms.com). The idea is to help overcome the fears and doubts of many older white voters by cutting through the mainstream media and commercial clutter and letting senior Obama supporters speak directly to their peers. No fancy production values or slick graphics, just seniors sitting in their kitchens and living rooms, sharing heartfelt insights about what's at stake in this election.

3. These are all people from my area, and my largest client base...
I was just saying last night, that I see about 20 people a week, in this base, and I have yet to talk to one that is not voting for Obama. Maybe that's also why I defend the "old" and elderly on this board all the time too. Sometimes, people's post offend me, and can be very dismissive of them. I think it's really wrong to act as if the elderly don't matter.

Century Village is huge down here, and there are many Century Village communities in South Florida. Word gets around, and I think there may be a few hold outs that will not vote for Obama, but not that many.

Sometimes, I get really bummed out when I go there to see a client, to think that their whole life has boiled down to a small apartment size home, and most all of them are financially strapped. But, most of them seem resolved with their lot in life. Kind of sad though.

Everyone will eventually be sitting where these people are. People need to think about that when before start slamming them.

Good video.

4. Excellent. And good work
I, too, greatly respect the elderly. My grandparents were so instumental in my life, and I was always taught that the elderly always had the most to offer.

These people sound like wonderful, caring people. They are concerned about the future when they are no longer with us. Isn't that what the Democratic Party should be about? I'm 47, and I'm fighting for my children and their children's futures. We have to vote Democratic, and elect Obama president. So much is riding on this election.

6. they are looking at where its really going to hurt with out obama
As some one above pointed out, they are older and seemed more informed than McCain, I agree. They point out what is important, and what people need to worry about, and its the major debt that is going to be facing the upcoming generation. The only way that we can attempt to dodge this is to support the effort of Obama, and his effort toward a more literal tax system, one not focused on holding down the middle class, but in stead put a lid on the top 5% that seem to be running wild, and often with corruption.

8. I love old people! They are so wise and have so much life experiences.
I was lucky enough to get to know my grandfather better the last 10 years of his life (before that I thought he was old and didn't know anything). I was in my twenties and was assigned to drive him to family gatherings because I came from out of town too. At first I didn't know what to talk to him about and then somehow I started asking questions just to kill time. Then I found out he had been in WW1 and had lived through the depression (came to CA from NY on the top of a train) and so much more. The last ten years of his life he lived to the fullest taking trips with my dad and stepmother and trips with me. His life was so simple and house so empty and plain his whole life and he was very frugal. We always reused dish water all day and he fixed everything that broke himself! Because of him I majored in gerontology in nursing and I have such insight into how older people think and see life and all their vulnerabilities. He died when he was 93 (in my arms) and I feel like I was so lucky to wake up and discover him before he died. So if you have an older relative still alive ask them questions...really get to know their life and how they feel about the world. Both my grandpa and grandma were life long democrats and they donated a little $ each month even though they hardly had any and always donated time. I named my son after him and I can tell already that he is very aware of the world and already has a strong sense of what is right and wrong (at age 14).
