Edited on Wed Sep-03-08 10:52 PM by LostinRed
I listened on the way home from work on NPR. It didn't play well on the radio. I don't want to watch the video tonight. I already feel sick enough.

11. I listened to the whole thing...
...and I am disgusted with how low they're willing to sink.

Publicans are so new to the idea of a female politician that they think it means she can tell BIGGER lies, be EXTRA-hateful, say things that Rudy 9u11iani and Mike Huckabee could only DREAM of saying, and the mean ol' boys can't do anything about it because she's just a guurrrrlll...tee-hee!

...so Sarah stood up and read one of the most hateful, depressing, and fallacious speeches I've EVER heard, it would make Dole in '76 barf, spewing misstatements about Obama right and left (well, none to the left) while avoiding any mention of George W Bush, Carol McCain, or the Keating Five.

But the GOP is PROUD of her and thinks NO ONE can attack her because she's female and "pretty" (maybe if you put a bag over her ideology) and her family is OFF-LIMITS! They aren't props! See them in the front row, with my oldest daughter holding her--MY baby? Show them again!

With her speech, she set the cause of women's rights back 25 years. While watching her, Phyllis Schlafly had her last orgasm.

One of her lines was, What's the difference between a hockey mom and a Pit Bull? The lipstick.

It's clear she's the Publicans' Pit Bull in Lipstick.

Clearly, the "librul media" will cry "FOUL!" if any man tries to attack her, and that's the Publican strategy.

Hillary and the other REAL, STRONG, democratic females who support Obama/Biden should show her the difference between a Publican beauty queen and a REAL female politician.

Hint: it involves substance, not lipstick.

8. It was interesting to see the arena. Very small. They couldn't fill it.
Tight shots. The only time you saw the empty seats were when a woman protester was pushed up the stairs by the end of free speech police.

Sorry I couldn't watch all the speech, But it seemed to me (but I might be wrong) that she was wearing only an Alaskan lapel pin and not the Stars and Stripes. Is this what they call "America First" ? Some would and have called it unpatriotic.

The creepy eyes of the cindy demon all that black lower eyeliner..makes her look like snakes eyes. She got a better hair groomer (thru primaries straggled dry bleached)..but still trying to look like Pamela Anderson (she'll never) at middle age 55 or more. No dignity. In 2000 she had short salt &pepper but noooow she's blonde. Claims she's naturally blonde. Like no one has seen or sees now those past videos. The ~attempt~ to deceive inall things.

The silly sara trying to act/talk 'young' like she gets any cooool talk of real Americanese from music/soul world parroted by 'youth'. Wahhhhhsilla/Idaho hippy-dippy. What is she Pepsi generation. Not hip. HHaaaaaaahhhhhhh

Democrats audience middle age, old.. and young gorgeous people and real and loose and mellow digging great music-- only the creative Dssss can give.

16. My good fortune.
A smart person can quickly tell the difference between healthy fare and poison.

It was immediately apparent from some random samples of her speech, in addition to what I've already learned about her, that Mrs. Mooseburger is pure poison.

I prefer to do my growing in healthier environments.

27. ALWAYS love seeing the dead before burial.
Ironic you should use the term "open mind". The folks on your side of the fence haven't possessed one since 1961, and no amount of lying by Failin' Palin, Suckabee, 9u11iani or Mitt Romney is going to mask that fact.

Modern Republicans are a pitiful disgrace to this once great country. You swallowed the Bewsh Koolaid with open throats and blackened hearts. Your ideology is dead and moldy. All you want to do is pretend like this world is a big football game where the only goal is to WIN something, no matter what it is, no matter how good it will be for the rest of the planet or how bad it will be for 95% of the population.

All you want is to hate someone or something because you're paranoid, bitter, resentful, curmudgeonly and pathetic. You're the most desperate, sick and twisted bunch of assholes I have the utmost DISGUST of sharing a country with. You don't have my pity and you don't have my sentiments.

You're fake Americans hiding behind your house-sized flags.

You don't respect my grandfather, a Pearl Harbor Survivor who gave more of a sacrifice than any of YOU have EVER given to your country.

You don't respect the soldiers that are over there, because prolonging this occupation of choice will result in more maimings, dismemberment, killings, genocide and bloodshed.

You don't respect the working or poor people of this country (a group which most of you are in, BTW), because this war is consuming an asston of tax dollars. As are the rich, who are using their breaks to offshore jobs and pocket the savings, yet you support idiots like Meg Whitman and Carly Fiorina all the way, because you somehow believe you'll BE like them one day :eyes:

You have not one goddamned CLUE as how terrorism works; otherwise, you'd understand the very ideology behind it's perpetuation is why an occupation trying to eradicate it is not only insane but patently wasteful.

We're going to change America with or without your help, lemmings.

No more bridge-building. NO more reaching out.

9. Embarrassing and sad...
Once again, the Republican Party coughs up a poorly prepared candidate who has no chance of representing this diverse country effectively.

Instead, it's 1980 politics in 2008.

I hope the American people are finally willing to reject teleprompters and empty attempts at patriotism. We _need_ a change. And let's not forget to insist that all the votes get counted. Fraud, once again, is the Republicans' best chance to win this election.

13. I wish for Gov. Palin to not become the next VP. We need to be wise.
Gov. Palin is a master orator. She is an able liar. She is hometown girl with fangs. She is heartless, and yet makes our guy seem nothing. She has got to be reckoned with wisely. We cannot be elites about this woman. We need to stop mentioning about her being a Gov. of Alaska, and a former mayor of a town of 8000 or what not. We cannot criticize her small town values. This will cause us to lose the election. The Majority of People are Anti-intellectuals. Our last two candidates were Intellectual Elites. I love them both, but for the Average American, George Bushes ah shucks attitude was something that allowed him to get enough votes so when Florida, and Ohio was stolen it looked like the majority of the Electors chose the idiot. We need to not criticize her small town values. We need to criticize her corruption, and abuse of power. We need to criticize John McCain's support of the Rich over the Working Man. We need to show that Sen. Obama, and Sen. Biden will help the Working Man vastly more than the Republican Platform will, and then we have to say that message 10,000 times till Nov. 4.

We cannot lose if we play our cards right, but Gov. Palin actually has turned out to be a real competitor.

20. I agree
I think the way to attack her is not to say she is inexperienced and her family situation. The was to go after her is to show that she is the far right of the Republican party something McCain was trying to run against. This pick shows that McCain is running a George W Bush campaign appealing to the christian conservatives.

21. why! THEY'RE almost treating her MESSIAH-like with that 3 minute wailing!
odd thing to scream your head off for 200 seconds over a woman you really know diddly about, that hasn't campaigned for about 18 months like Obama and others have done (which is about the amount of experience she has with statewide office!) But go on with your hysterical scream-fest over a narrative of a strong woman that you've built up in your minds!

Only if her job was repeating the same old tired Republican talking points.

30. she could have failed lamely, instead she exceeded (their) expectations
...and the polls seem to be showing a quick bounce for McCain, probably due to all the evangelicals who swore back in February that they wouldn't vote for him.

Given that she had no issues to confront Obama on except drilling for more oil, she managed to do quite a job of attacking him. I'm not surprised that the conservative base is suddenly excited as hell, fired up for the first time since 2000. They could have had a Quayle and instead they got a Coulter.

We can't just laugh her off the stage now, we have to come down hard on Troopergate etc.

26. Thanks for posting - nothing like first-hand...and I'm sorry, but
At least in this first part, I thought her speech was rather good. The way she spoke about her family was believable imho. Of course there was rhetoric that rings false to anyone who reads DU, but looking as an impartial observer...not too shaby ..

On to part 2.

Oh, and watchers: don't forget to watch her Wasilla church appearance video as well. Now thàt is insightful...
