2. Amazing! One question though
Edited on Thu Aug-28-08 11:32 PM by ram2008
Does anyone have a video of after the speech when the families came to the stage, fireworks went off, confetti fell, and the titan music played?

Edit: Nevermind I found it here for anyone wants to see it. Truly historic, and puts a tear in my eye. http://www.cnn.com/video/#/video/politics/2008/08/28/sot.dnc.obama.accept.cnn

5. On this night, I watched and listened
as Barack Obama made history. That was one hell of a speech by one hell of a statesman. I was genuinely moved and heartened as I listened to the next President of the United States speak about this country and its potential and the direction in which we need to take it. I feel like I've just listened to Lincoln or FDR or John Kennedy. Make no mistake, neocons. This is our country, and as of tonight we're taking it back!

13. K & R!!!
I just posted a comment on "youtube" in response to some idiot who claimed that if McCain brought in Gov. Palin (the moron spelled her name "Paulin"), the electorate would exclaim, "Obama who?" His reason was that she is "hot". I continued to read so many comments that appear to be made by brain-dead, non-readin', non-thinkin' rednecks that I couldn't read any longer. I'd bet $5.00 to a gingersnap that the fools had not even watched Obama's acceptance speech.

Grandma and mama, if still livin', would yell at me for even thinkin' that folks voting on issues important to the entire planet should be able to garner at least 80 points on an IQ test. Or, that folks of any age with the mental aptitude of a chimpanzee should not be allowed near a keyboard. (Sorry, chimp lovers! The one in the White House has soured me on our cousins.) I know, I know! That is not a proper attitude for a Democrat, a grown man, a Secular Humanist. It's a fleeting condition; just on old man feelin' his adrenaline. I won't even mention the part about knockin' 'em in the head. (I'll get fussed at by my good wife if she reads that last line.)

Still, can't we gritch to one another, make outrageous statements among kindred spirits if those same ideological neighbors understand that none of us would act upon such terrible possibilities? It just make me feel better!

Oh, I post to "youtube" with the username "bariuke". I play on a baritone ukulele for my grandchildren. The little ones love it; the older ones think I'm nuts. The older ones are closer to the truth!

14. Well what more can we expect, really?
Morons who voted for Bush because they'd like to have a beer with him.

Testosterone-poisoned mental midgets who would vote for someone because his VP is "hot".

and which people of which Party managed to (Ted Stevens) elect a Republican Senator in (Ted Stevens) Alaska in their (Ted Stevens) primary in spite of the fact that he was (Ted Stevens) indicted on some (Ted Stevens) pretty serious charges......

yech...!!!

I see people like that and...I'll admit it...my first impulse is to haul 'em out to the woodshed for a good asswhupping. Then I come to my senses and realize that it's a total waste of time and energy. Like trying to teach quantum physics to a slug.

My own personal opinion is that this country would be a whole lot better off if we gave up the "War on terror" and started fighting a whole new "War on stupidity" instead.

26. I saw the exact same post earlier
today, along with others by obviously the same person or group under different names. They have lots of caps in them and say things like:

"I AM A DEM AND NOW WITH PALIN I'M VOTING FOR MCCAIN. SO LONG OBAMA!"

It's a plant....as in a scheme and as in a person with the IQ of broccoli. There were a lot of them, about every 10 to 15 posts.

I wrote to one asking if they really thought anyone was gonna fall for their little joke.

15. He is an orator of the first degree
I think I had goosebumps during his entire speech last night.

And I found myself getting weepy when he referred to MLK's "I have a dream speech"

and....seems kind of trivial, but to me it isn't....

he actually pronounced the word NUCLEAR correctly

and added a correctly pronounced PROLIFERATION after it

After eight long years of listening to a chimp mangle the English language, it really made me proud to see a guy who can speak the native tongue.

Let's hear Bush try to say "nuclear proliferation"

his head would probably explode in a cloud of used cat litter and little bits of spandex bike shorts

25. "This campaign has never been about me...it's been about you"
Hopefully, America has awakened. We were awakened by the kiss of renewed hope. We cannot endure the McCains of America a year longer.

Obama has set the agenda we support. Excellent speech. I feel very proud of what he represented in that speech. That is the course America will choose to follow. Only way to lose is if McCain steals it....which we will not tolerate this time.
