1. I almost overlooked this video.
It's fascinating, really. And I thought General Jack Ripper was crazy. Well he was, but maybe he wasn't that crazy!

6. Bottom line; people ARE getting dumber (it's not just your imagination)
Edited on Sat Aug-23-08 11:40 AM by Lorien
and chemical poisoning may be partly to blame. Mercury in vaccines given to newborns are 400x higher than the EPA allowances. Autism rates are skyrocketing. Also, fluoride is a form of industrial waste that the Nazis experimented with. Tests with animals show that high levels of fluoride cause ADD and ADHD symptoms. The damage is also cumulative and can cause joint pain and skeletal abnormalities over time.

7. Thanks.
The amount of chemicals in people's bodies is appalling - saw a TV show about that a few months ago. A family of healthy eaters vs. a family of fast-food eaters. Didn't make any difference - all full of chemicals.

3. Does this mean parents should skip vaccinations?
As a layman, I can't argue the science on thiomersal ,but for parents out there, I would do a lot more research before I started skipping vaccinations. Like polio shots, for instance.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thiomersal_controversy

The two mommies I know who are smartest about medicine -- a government scientist and drug researcher -- follow vaccination schedules.

The general point about the dumbing down of America through mass media is, of course, accurate, and I have often wondered what is the cause.

Good luck to parents making these important decisions with contradictory information. It will be great when we get an Obama/Biden Food & Drug Administration in office that isn't beholden to industry.

4. Thanks
I think robbing money from our school systems is also responsible as is the PC push that eliminated grouping of children by ability.

The insurance and energy companies are the biggest thieves, by price gouging our districts we don't have enough money to have adequate staff.

Pay and benefits are more than 80% of a districts budget and when insurance can raise their rates by 20% just because they want to it negatively effects students.

By teaching all students the same lesson at the same time the kids at the top and bottom get left out, boredom leads to acting out and acting out leads to lost educational time. In the end the kids still know where everyone ranks on the "smart" scale just as they do when kids are grouped and taught at their levels of educational ability.

(all thought I don't really know what drove the push to get rid of groups, was it the money crunch or the persistence of people like the Bush's and McCain's that had kids that weren't in the top group that killed the teaching to the kids ability level?)

5. Excellent video. I didn't know about the Nazi connection to fluoride
my aunts and I all have adult onset ADD, and one aunt and I have fibromyalgia (general body pain and tiredness with painful joints). Now I'm wondering if the cumulative effects of fluoride have anything to do with it. Life sure has become much more difficult for all three of us because of these conditions.

8. Lead and the Roman empire
Lead was great at first, the Roman army needed a huge number of brutes, they could get "thinkers" from Greece and other places they conquered. It worked fine till it destroyed them internally. I found this at the EPA's site:

Lead Poisoning: A Historical Perspective
by Jack Lewis

This is a bit more interesting:
