this is a really bad line of questioning for McCain.

4. I like that they are actually showing Obama's home. Even though it's
a million dollar home, it looks like just your average upper middle class home in the burbs. In that photo it does not look like a mansion.

14. Just because it costs a million doesn't make it THAT swanky
I'd be interested to know how many of McCain's condos cost a million bucks.

6. It's always the dumb, pissy things that attract the media to embarass candidates.
That's why the Democrats have struggled in recent presidential elections. They try to center the dialogue on the real issues, but the media gerbils like the shiny objects..sex, how many houses do you own, where did you go on vacation, yada yada.

I don't like to see it, but I think this is what it's going to take to defeat McCain. The media are too dumb to discuss the real issues.

7. GOOD! Keep up the negative ads. Go negative all the ay.
McLame has so many negatives Obama could run a new one every day. Pound his ass with negatives and paint him like he is: An old, stupid, lying, out-of-touch, overly ambitious, puppet of Bushco's friends.

Edit to add: I especially love the part where Obama is trying hard not to laugh at the absurdity of McC not knowing how many houses he owns!

9. Cabin in Sedona????
Edited on Fri Aug-22-08 07:56 AM by peaches2003
Reading in the media where McMansion has gone on vacation to his "CABIN in Sedona". Cabin? On Hardball or KO last night they showed the cover picture in Architectural Digest of the happy couple in their Sedona home and the photos of the $ multi-million renovation they did. It is gorgeous. Cabin my a$$! Why does the media pull this crap to cover for him? Been to Sedona- one of the most fabulous and expensive areas in the country. They make it sound like he is slumming in the woods somewhere sleeping on the ground in a bag.

11. I'm starting to believe Hartmann's right
His theory is the corporate media have a lot invested in keeping this a "horse race." Agreed. Everyone can see that. His extra twist on that is they keep it that way by smacking down whoever seems to be pulling ahead. They overlooked all kinds of serious stuff about McCain and pounced on Obama while Obama was running away with the election. The first time McCain pops his head up...wham!

Not that McCain doesn't deserve it, but you have to wonder -- after all the crap the CM have overlooked, why are they all over this?

12. Because it's too big to ignore probably. And I agree, they are
hoping to delude us into thinking this is close for their ratings. If it wasn't, who'd tune in except maybe people like us?

13. I'm Not Rich But My House is Worth $800,000
Like many other people I bought a house 40 years ago and now what I have is worth $800,000 so its not a big deal to have a million dollar house today. BTW I make about 40,000 a year.
