3. That Phelps woman is so twisted

that it is unreal. What I find amazing is that they project their judgments onto an entire nation (if not the world) but never seem to look to their own shortcomings. Even with my moderate Bible knowledge, I know that Jesus said not to worry about the sins of others; concentrate upon rectifying your own shortcomings (the mote and beam parable). And Jesus's commandments were to love God and one another--quite simple, really. Nothing about hating anyone, in fact.

The only comfort is that this mental sickness is basically contained to this one family. I feel sorry for the younger ones--this is all they have known. I don't have time (or the stomach) to watch the whole thing--do they ever go into the fact that some of the Phelps family have left the church?
