1. Yes!. Love Olbermann and Maddow, but...

He mentions there was no progressive news before Olbermann. I've been watchting Bill Moyers and Amy Goodman on Democracy Now for longer than Olbermann. But then again I'm probably one of ten people who ever watch those shows. Outside of DU'ers of course.

Just to make that clear. Oh, and he's had Phil Donahue in studio more than once and they've talked about how he opened doors at MSNBC to lay the groundwork for Olbermann, etc.

2. It is strange that MSNBC would have any progressive, or leftist, or simply Human Voices on it.

I appreciate that MSNBC has Mr. Olberman, and Ms. Maddow on it. I wonder how a joint venture between Microsoft, and GE can allow any voices even a bit left of center on cable, which is so dereft of anything to the left of center. I appreciate their voices. Thanks I have no bias, and thanks MSNBC, and KO, and RM.

17. Let's Hope it's a Trend

My take is MSM goes where the money is(PERIOD) Right now they play to the bell curve under which the broad swath of Jesus Land morons inhabit. They have helped to incubate this Moron Land by feeding it its own gruel of Fox and Fox-Lite programming.

Rachael is head and shoulders above _just about_ ANY Progressive voice in the MSM and my hope is that they don't play any games with her format. She's a powerhouse intellectual with an approachable, congenial spirit.

Personally, as someone who dabbles in video and commentary, I don't like what MSNBC did with Keith's set. They appear to have crammed him in a corner with that shitty natural light window view. Abrams had the killer set and so did Kieth in prior shows. Regarding Abrams; he should have been moved not cut. They likely did that so as not to move too left, too fast.

Congrats Rachael (why won't you friend me on MySpace?!)
