White House Press Secretary Dana Perino admits that she is not cut out for hard hitting journalism in this clip from Fox News Sunday with Chris Wallace today. No kidding.

Even more remarkable is that Pernio reached this conclusion when she found herself unable to interview the mother of a child murder victim. Yet, Perino seemingly has no problem whatsoever defending the man responsible for the deaths of thousands of children on a daily basis. WOW!

4. "What Cuban Missiles?"....
Dana Perino.. the WHITE HOUSE PRESS SECRETARY who admitted that she could not find Cuba on a map. If I could add anything to this National Insanity.. or even fathom HOW A LARGE PORTION OF THE AMERICAN VOTERS FUNCTION IN THIS COUNTRY... I would be lying.

5. Yes, she's a robot barbie doll robot but...
I have to admit that I admire her for not doing the murdered girl's mom interview. I always find such reporting extremely distasteful.

7. I also empathise with her on this point...
I was studying photojournalism a few years ago when the house across the street from me burned down one night. I had the words of my prof ringing in my head telling me to grab my camera fast (he even told me to carry around a red child's glove or a toy to toss into a gruesome shot for effect) and start shooting. The fire dept. was on their way, and there would be no journalists around until it was too late. I was in the right place at the right time.

I found myself staring at the inferno, which had started with an explosion and was already consuming the whole house, terrified and unable to move. I couldn't imagine pointing my camera at this spectacle, wondering if there was anyone inside.

It turned out a man died in the basement that night, and when I found that out I was so sad to think of how scared he would have been as I watched from outside, and how painful and filled with torment his death would have been, and so glad that I hadn't been taking pictures, thinking about getting an A, or getting published before anyone else in my class. Thinking about how to properly frame this tragedy, or what ISO to use to best capture the roaring flames and their terrible intensity. I don't know if I could have handled knowing that.

I think about that every time I see a horrific picture in the paper, like the ones from South Ossiettia that have been published recently of old women covered in blood, sitting amongst the ruined remains of their homes and lives. I know these people have an important job to do, and in a way I admire their stoicism, but I just couldn't do it.

Having said all that, I couldn't be a press secretary for the Bush admin. either. After all, I may not be a prize-winning photographer, but at least I have some fucking self respect.

8. I have no love for the current chief of spin, but she's not a journalist
And it sounds like she was self aware enough to know she wasn't cut out for it. So what? Since when is being a hard hitting journalist a qualification for press sect'y? She shouldn't be a liar for hire I agree but what is the point of this clip? Seems like a "nanny-nanny-boo-boo" attack. Love clips of her caught lying or unable to defend her current boss, but really, this is kind of low.
