By Jason Leopold and Alan Breslauer

Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi's appearance Wednesday at a West Los Angeles college to discuss her recently published book was marred by dozens of protestors and several angry outbursts by audience members who demanded Pelosi immediately authorize a House committee to hold impeachment hearings against President George W. Bush.

The Speaker made it clear she would not support any effort to hold impeachment hearings against President Bush saying that the president "will be gone in a hundred days."

Halfway through her discussion at The American University of Judaism, where more than 300 people paid $30 each to hear Pelosi speak about her upbringing and her family's impact on her political career as detailed in her book Know Your Power: A Message to America’s Daughters, the topic shifted to Congress's historically low approval rating and how it reflected on Pelosi’s tenure as Speaker.

American University of Judaism's Rabbi Robert Wexler, who led the 75 minute interview, asked Pelosi to analyze a recent Rasmussen poll that found nine percent of individuals polled believed Congress was doing a good job, far lower than President Bush's overall approval rating.

Pelosi responded by defending her performance and the performance of her Democratic colleagues in Congress.

"I preside over the greatest collection of integrity and idealism," Pelosi said.

30. DU is not a place to work for the defeat of Democratic candidates
Nancy Pelosi won her primary against a pro-impeachment Democrat by an 89%-11% margin. Apperently San Fransisco Democrats are a tad to moderate for your taste.

someday (natural causes, whatever), so why bother to prosecute?

The bank president, who raided the vaults of the customer's life savings, is retiring next year. So why prosecute?

if in a national emergency which in return can cancel or suspend the constitution and cut government in half if he deems necessary. If he's impeached he'll prob nuke Iran and they'll retalliate with the same action giving him more power. I fuckin hate politicians, but another revolution will never happen because people now a days are conditioned like sheep.

43. Justice, Anyone?
Yeah, that was pretty lame. Having bush gone is only part of the need for impeachment. We must send a message to future presidents that Congress does have the power to impeach and in fact is duty bound to do so when the executive branch abuses it's powers. This is also about justice for the crimes committed by this horrible administration.

Did you hear the way she's talking down to people? She's worse than the Republicans. She needs to be impeached first. Once her ass is removed as Speaker, and then maybe we can start impeaching the bastards in the White House. She's nothing but an big fucking obstruction of justice. I wonder if impeachment will be on the table when Obama is President and the Republicans try to remove him? No doubt. HATE her.

27. The problem is who owns the media and how events (and people) are portrayed or what
is put in front of people as worthy of their attention.
Most of the Dems in Congress know this and fear for their power and position because of it.
Notable exceptions, like Kucinich, dare to challenge what's going on and get very little media attention as a result.
This started with Reagan and now has us on a steep slide toward fascism. Too many Congressional Dems are now to the right of Nixon as a result. What a crying shame.

44. She complainds that the Republican minority
is blocking the majority from carrying out the will of the people, yet the Democratic minority couldn't stop the Republican majority from defying the will of the people when the Republicans tried their unsuccessful overthrow of the last duly elected president in 1998.
She's so good at making excuses and bad at looking out for the good of the country she could be a Republican.
Professor Irwin Corey is still around, and he'd be a breath of fresh air in Washington.

"From the late 1940s he cultivated his "Professor" character. Dressed in seedy formal wear and sneakers, with his bushy hair sprouting in all directions, Corey would amble on stage in a preoccupied manner, then begin his monologue with "However..." He created a new style of doublespeak comedy; instead of making up nonsense words like "krelman" and "trilloweg," like other comics, the professor would season his speech with many long and florid, but authentic, words. The professor would then launch into nonsensical observations about anything under the sun, but seldom actually making sense. Changing topics suddenly, he would wander around the stage, pontificating all the while. His very quick wit allowed him to hold his own against the most stubborn straight man, heckler or interviewer."

46. She is a sleazy politician with weak, illogical and immoral arguments.
They'll "be gone in a hundred days"

Bush and Cheney are two of the worst criminals of our time, and she just wants to wait for them to leave and then sweep it under the rug.
Can you imagine if someone said, "Yeah, that Charles Manson guy is pretty bad, but he's leaving town soon, so we don't need to do anything about him."

Wonder how her re-election chances would be then?

"The republicans in Congress would stop it..."
SO FUCKING WHAT. That just shows who is on the side of justice. Where would we be if the original Patriots had said, "Yeah, we hate King George and want to revolt, but his cronies might not approve so let's do NOTHING instead." Grow a fucking spine, Pelosi.

The more I see from this sorry excuse for a Democrat, the more I believe she is in cahoots with Bush/Cheney, is being blackmailed, or is getting a payoff - or that the whole electoral and political process in the States is just a sham.

Pelosi, you are as bad as Bush/Cheney by not taking them to task for what they have done. Might it fail? Sure - but unless you try you are a part of the problem. Doing the right thing is its own reward - we need people that stand up for justice despite the repercussions. Not those that play ball in the name of political expediency.

I cannot understand those that buy her bullshit.

53. Believe me, I really understand the frustration and anger of the protestors.
However, this type of disruption does nothing positive. Especially the overwrought emotional outburst from the one woman in the front.

How about another tactic? All of these protestors politely await their turns, raise their hands, and when called on ask the burning question that is on their mind-- In a calm, rational voice that is not threatening or reeks of condemnation.

Make the Speaker address each question. When she doesn't or can't she is exposed for the shill that she is.

If the protestors don't carry signs or shout out protestations no one will know if they are going to raise the proverbial "loaded question". And the more loaded questions that are asked and go unsatisfactorily answered, the worse Pelosi looks to everyone.

By screaming and yelling at her you elicit sympathy for her because she's being beat up on.

Just my $.02 worth.

54. The only oath of office that Ms Pelosi abides by is her
Agreement to be bought out!

Where do the hundreds of Millions of monies collected buy Di Feinstein's husband go?? Why is hthat Senator's husband even allowed to be part of the game - is there not conflict of interest?

On both sides of the aisle, no one says that Feinstein is guilty of conflict of interest. The way money works within high powered circles is as a lubricant to keep the wheels of injustice spinning.

Feisntein is allowed her monies as long as a certain amount is used to keep people like Pelosi from undermining this Administration.
