I wish Obama would do 30 second spots showing that Bush's own energy department says we wouldn't see the (minimal) results from drilling for seven years, and that after John MC announced his energy plan to a room full of oil execs -- ca-ching!

4. It serves Obama well that he has a natural sense of humor in a setting like this

combined with a sort of relaxed coolness. Whereas Al Gore is a funny man, he doesn't have that relaxed way about him, and John Kerry could be very stiff too. Obama doesn't look, sound, act or feel like your stereotypical boring wonky Democrat. That's part of why the typical GOP attacks don't stick to him.
